Along the 15 freeway, about 30 minutes south of Vegas is the Gold Strike Casino in Jean. You will see their big electric sign that promotes "real coins" because they have the old style slot machines. I don't think they have TITO (ticket in or ticket out).
This casino also has low limit games such as $3 craps (one table).
I've been stopping there perhaps two or three times a year, and made a stop there Sunday night just to play some low limit craps.
But what I found (and I never checked before) was that I had accumulated $92 in gasoline comps at the nearby Shell Station. I also "cashed out" $11 in cash-back which had no effect on my comps. And I was also told at their players' club that the comps do not expire.
Since the tank was filled up for the return trip when I was in Vegas I didn't get gas, but on my next trip to Vegas I will time my fillups to make use of the gas comp.
Very friendly little casino frequented by truck drivers and Vegas locals who want low bet gambling. There is a buffet but I never ate there, and there is a hotel and they send me hotel offers but I never stayed there.
They do have a $5 8/5 Bonus Poker machine with a progressive -- and you will never find that in Vegas. The progressive was about $20,680 and there are only two machines.
About two years ago Jason hit their $1 progressive for $4300 playing Double Bonus. I don't recall the paytable.
The craps table is usually manned by only two dealers, and half of the table is closed. But the dealers are friendly and fun and usually are standing around waiting for a player. Even on a Saturday night I've never seen the table full.
Gold Strike is owned by MGM but it is separate from the other MGM casinos and has its own players' club.
