WOW! I have never seen anything like that there. Usually it's vegetables, dips, chips, nuts, wings and miniature pastries.
What is your favorite Diamond Lounge?

would you mind putting a "dime" or a "quarter" next to the plate so we can see the actual sizes?

To be honest... after seeing the self-serve trays that the food comes in... I'd rather avoid it.

But a player like arci would be scarfing that stuff up Alan, as bad as it is or looks or tastes. As "free food", to any self-described "AP", it's simply one more meal he could skip out on at home, thereby saving ten bucks and justifying it as a "win at the machines". Doesn't matter if the player or the spouse that's dragged along for the point-accumulation process is fighting life-threatening disease or is in any kind of discomfort, and would be far better served having nutritious meals in the home after healthy walks instead of being made to sit at machines for 6-8 hours every day. It's all about "the grind" -- and the insatiable need to value all of the "free stuff" at any amount required in order to proclaim yet another in a long string of "winning "years.

Only problem is....people like that ALWAYS pay the piper in the end, as we've all seen. Their pound of flesh always makes it to the devil one way or another, and so righteously so.

Rob, while I agree with half of what you're saying, directing this at Arci makes you sound like the mother in the movie "Carrie." Lighten up.

How the heck did Rob bring Arc into this thread?

    Sick.

Horseshoe Hammond Indiana just reopened the Diamond Room after closing for a remodel. They used to have the worst inedible slop--I wouldn't go there even if I were starved.

Went the other day and they now have soup and salad buffet style, and a small menu that you order from and is served to you. They had a Cajun chicken sandwich, meatloaf plate, catfish of some kind, and a brisket sandwich. Figured the chicken sandwich was the least dangerous--but it actually was pretty good. Way better than the slop buffet they used to have. Portion was huge--way too big. Wonder why they are wasting money with this type of service and huge portions ( I didn't even eat half) although my guess is that even though the buffet was inedible slop, people were murdering them on the unlimited access to food, no matter how horrible it was.

Years ago when I lived in Chicago we would go into the diamond lounge at Harrah's East Chicago. It was okay. always clean. Food was so so. The Horseshoe in Hammond was still owned by Binions so they didn't have a Diamond lounge. The steakhouse was pretty good though. I went to an event there and Ivanna Trump was standing next to me. Back in 1999-2000 the Horseshoe in Hammond had the best $5.00 video poker machines in the high limits room. I got lucky and hit a Royal on one. Haven't been back in years. Is it still a boat?

Not a boat anymore. Built a gigantic land based casino. But the absolute worst VP around. When I was there the other day I was the only one in the high limit room. They took out those good $5.00 games.

Is Schoop's Hamburgers still there in Hammond?

I don't know. I find it best in that area to go directly to the casino and back home again. I grew up south side of Chicago so I am pretty familiar with that area.

I had the same perception when I went there in the past. Haven't been back yet.

Alan, anytime we see unhealthy type slop being served in casino settings, that ALWAYS brings up memories of arci making his poor wife temporarily move to LV just so he could get her to go to the worst local casinos in town to pile up the points and pile down the diner crap....at a time when he should have been taking her for hour long walks in Minn. and feeding her a highly nutritious diet at home.

If we're gonna talk about the best way to approach vp, we should also point out bad behavior caused by an over-indulgence in the game. Yes, he's paying dearly for those choices today, but let's hope we can stop anyone else from doing anything similar.

that casino is still there but it has changed hands a few times. It is not a caesars property at this time.

Rob, unless you are privy to videotapes of Arci's day-to-day life, or have read food diaries kept by his family, AND you are an accredited dietician with an intimate knowledge of his wife's condition, you basically have no business speculating (which is what it is) regarding somebody's behavior and its consequences. If you construct narratives based on such flimsy data concerning Arci, why should we trust your other narratives regarding video poker? Are they similarly based on flimsy data and rife with speculation?

I could speculate, for example, that your continual blabbing about family life demonstrates a real lust for your daughter-in-law. But since I'm not watching videos of your life, or reading your diaries, I'll refrain from discussing something that seems obvious but would be sheer speculation.

Red, you're misinterpreting what goes on on the Internet. Arci spilled his own beans about what his life's like. I've simply confirmed what he's written about thru certain correlated and verifying documentation, then I proceed to mock him for his behavior--which is first and foremost fun, then it's exactly what he deserves. Besides, he's a very monotonous and boring creature of habit, and knowing that he reads and re-reads everything I write, I'm actually doing him a favor with these stinging distractions.

What you should concentrate more closely on is his comeback lies in feeble attempts at revenge. A good debater he is not. For instance, he pretends to be a person who only deals in "the facts". Well, he uses the word "trailer" often. Yes, we tow our car in a "trailer" with a coach. He's seen the picture, but he likes to say we live in the trailer. It is funny, but when you think about medical man's challenges and self-caused struggles which he describes on various forums I guess to elicit pity or sympathy or something, I LAUGH EVEN MORE!!

My success at video poker is something altogether different. I do so well at such an unforgiving game for most everyone who plays it, that I never expected, expect, or care really, that/if anyone believes how greatly I've mastered it. There's no way to convince anybody, in fact, you've seen that the more of the "road OF success" I've published in GT over the years, on my site, and put up here in that other thread, the further away it pushes others. You & arci don't understand the consistent winning on mostly -EV games, but I've done it....and still do; Alan thinks because he spins his wheels so much by coming home with nothing but a handful of W2G's after playing for hours, that it's just not possible to hit big winners early on in strategies designed to take total advantage of them when that happens; others go out of their way to make up scenarios of picture and even machine & player falsification's, and it's only and always because of losers' deep-seated jealousies of winners. So while you can try to compare what I've explained about vp to what I've posted about arci-facts, his self-descriptions, and some resulting but obvious deductions of the same, it really is not comparable once you eliminate the minutia.
