Thread: Moving the Caesars Palace Poker Room

  1. #1
The Pure Nightclub is supposed to expand, taking up what is now the Caesars Palace poker room, and the poker room is supposed to move into space near or by the sports book. Anyone have any more info on this?

The Caesars Poker room includes two areas -- a regular poker room plus a larger "ballroom sized area" that was used for larger tournaments. The ballroom area is what borders the Pure nightclub area. Losing that would mean that any larger tournaments would have to move into one of the actual ballrooms in the upstairs towers, wouldn't it?

Here is an article I read on Vegas Chatter last week:

When I was in Caesars on May 11th the bar area between the Coliseum and the sports book was walled off.

We saw that too Aaron when we were there in April. Not only was that area walled off but a lot of the poker machines in the front by the food court were shut down as well.

If true that the new Caesars poker room will be only 20 tables then Caesars would have to host those larger tournaments in a ballroom in one of the towers.
While 20 tables is larger than the current "basic poker room" it still won't be enough for the regular cash games plus a larger tournament. I've been to some of the larger tournaments at Caesars which have been fundraisers for various charities.

By the way, at the Flamingo when there is a larger tournament it is held in a ballroom.

What I hope is that the new poker room at Caesars will in fact be a "room" and not a poker area that is open and exposed to the rest of the casino noise.

Is it going to be a table poker room or a video poker room? The area I was referring to used to be video poker machines. It was in between the Coliseum and the Sports Book.

Duh, should have read the link Aaron posted first. Now I know what you are talking about. The area I was referring to was the video poker machines that were next to the Sports Book.

I also posted this in a trip report: the Caesars new "poker room" is close to being ready. Actually it's a poker area separated from the main Forum casino floor near the Mesa Grill and the sports book. Unfortunately it's not really a "room" nor is it walled in which means the casino noise will be heard in the poker area. Too bad. Caesars used to have a very nice poker room. Photos added below. As you can see they have a large area for poker tables, and they moved some of the photos and even the book shelf from the original poker room into the new area.

It appears Caesars is following what many other Strip casinos have -- a poker area but not a formal room.
