Thread: Doggie Royal

I didn't know where to post this as it's not related to Vegas, but.....

I have an immaculate track record of avoiding wild animals on the road when I am driving. Deer, raccoons, bunny rabbits, cats, dogs, skunks, etc.
My luck ran out yesterday. A stray dog ran out in front of my car and I had less than 1/2 second to react. Going 60 mph. Killed it

Went to the casino tonight & was dealt a royal in just a few minutes of play, so maybe the dog forgave me???

I think this is very appropriate for a Las Vegas discussion. There was a trip that I made with my son to Vegas...and on the I-15 near Primm a bird flew into the windshield as we were driving about 70. It was a "sign" not to gamble. It was one of those trips where it felt like we never made even one pass at the craps table the entire weekend.

In the case of the dog... maybe it had been tormenting a smaller dog in the neighborhood?

Did the bird damage the windshield? If it had hit your car just right it could have gone THROUGH the windshield and you'd really be in scary shape, yeah.

I was several miles out of town when I hit the dog. It was way out in the countryside so I don't think the dog was a neighborhood bully. It did a very dumb thing, though. It ran across the road about 200 feet ahead of me and it actually made it across. Then it turns around and goes back on the road right in front of my car to where I had no time to react. Horribly mangled dog. Bloody mess on the license plate.

I was starting a Singer progression when the royal hit so it was only a 25-cent progressive royal. I did leave right after hitting it (sorry, no pictures LOL).

I suppose I'll have to thank the canine gods for my 5th lifetime dealt royal.
