Thread: Does Rincon give Tier Points/Reward Credits on free play now?

  1. #1
On my last visit to Rincon, I was very careful to play my "free play" until the first "point" registered on the video poker machine meter. My thought was that as soon as "one credit" (tier point) showed, I had gone through my free play and now I was playing with "real money." My goal was only to play through the "free play."

    However, the following happened:

    1. I had a total of $965 of free play. $500 came from actual "free play" and $465 came from cashing in "reward credits" as "free play."

    2. When I started my "free play" my "sessions points" read as ZERO, which is what it should have read.

    3. I stopped my free play when 3 (three) tier points showed on the meter. (I would have stopped at 1 but there was an obvious delay in the posting of the tier points.)

    4. I took a 45-minute "break" in the casino to talk to a friend before leaving, and out of curiosity when I checked my "card" again I noticed I had 55 tier points showing, which was the equivalent of $550 of video poker coin-in ($10 coin in = 1 tier point).

What happened? Does Rincon now award some tier points for free play?

(by the way, I cashed out exactly $965 which was equal to the $-value of the free play. No quads.)

I found you get points on freeplay if you insert the coupon, get the credits, and then pull out your TR card and put it back in before playing.

This might be however on the particular trip I wrote about above I did not do this.

At Rincon the other day I noticed that the free play that I downloaded from my card did register points but the free play coupons did not. All on the same machine.

Thanks Chimp. This would explain why I got some points on my visit that I wrote about above. I also had a combination of sources of the free play.

I have a question related to the "tier credits". When I first started going to Rincon regularly. I had looked on the Total Rewards website. If you go to the Earn and Redeem section and then go to the Tier credits tab. Scroll down to the bottom right side. Under Entertainment. Hotel section states, Earn 1 Tier Credit for every $1(NEW!) spent on hotel accommodations. Now, under dining and shopping it says, "participating".
I've gone to the Rewards counter several times in the last 5 months and brought this question up. They told me that's only in Vegas to, "someone will call you back'. They never did. Monday I went to the rewards counter and explained to the lady in charge exactly were I read that. She looked at the site and said, "you're right", I'll need to ask someone tomorrow about that. Any insights in to this, anyone?

Can you post a link? I know you earn "Reward Credits" when you stay in the hotels, shop, eat at restaurants, but I didn't think you earn "Tier credits." Tier credits, I thought, only game from actual betting. Did it change?

This is about "reward credits" and not "tier points." This is not new. Basically, you are earning comps for going to restaurants, buying at the Caesars-owned gift shops, etc. There are a few exceptions. I don't think you earn reward credits at Central at Caesars. I am not sure about the restaurants at Rincon -- and never thought to ask -- but I always used comps there anyway.

I removed your other posts -- don't worry your private PIN was not made public. The other post had the wrong page, anyway.

It's not Allen. It says TIER credits. Did you go to the tier tab?

Yes. You are correct. Next step is to ask which shops or restaurants participate and be sure they enter your card number.

I guess your question is which vendors participate? If Total Rewards doesn't have a list yet I'm guessing the "new benefit" isn't active yet.

Actually, My question was concerning earning a tier credit for each $ spent on Hotel accommodations. This was taken directly from the site.

    HOTEL

Earn 1 Tier Credit for every $1(NEW!) spent on hotel accommodations.

I can't answer the question about $1 spent on hotel accommodations = 1 tier point because my rooms are always comped. How many tier points would I get for "free"?
