I'm all in favor of the bosses in Washington doing everything they can to cut government costs and save taxpayer dollars. But sometimes it seems that a plan to cut costs might actually raise costs.

Take for example a new plan from the Defense Logistics Agency. The plan is to cut the number of food suppliers to the military to control costs. But will fewer competitors result in higher prices from less competition?
