Thread: Hit and Run report

Vpnewbie the 3116 machine is a multi denomination machine. 25-cents, 50-cents, 1-dollar, 2-dollar. Next time you're there look again. You can change the denomination by pressing on the 25-cents symbol. The machine automatically resets to 25-cents after it is not played for a period of time.

Actually I can save you the trouble of looking at the machine. Look at the tickets. In small print it says Asset # 3116 which is machine 3116.

Sunday night. Just left Rincon. Had $300 free play. Cashed out $200. At peak I could have cashed out $220. Not bad. $40 for gas. (Anyone else notice that gas prices dropped on Sunday?) $5 for a fast food snack on the way there.

Alan, I thought I had a decent strategy. I was doing good and winning a decent amount (2-$400)playing 3116 max betting at the 25 cent level($1.25). I usually go with 3-$600. Yesterday and today something went way south. I don't know if it had something to do with me switching to the $5 dollar level yesterday... and today I maxed at the 50 cent level($3). Both times I had a major loss and didn't play for more than a couple hours. I'd like to watch your strategy sometime.

My strategy is the correct strategy for the game I am playing. If you are asking about my betting strategy I start at the $1 level usually and move to a higher denomination only if I have won enough to move up.

In the case of Royal Aces Bonus (a very tough game) I usually start at 25-cents and play for a limited amount. The time I played at the $1 level and hit the quad aces for $4,000 I had just hit a $4,000 royal on Aces and Faces and had some "extra money." The quad aces came very quickly.

Where were you playing $5 ?? Machine 3116 only goes to $2.

Am I wrong. 3116 is 25, 50, 100 and $2.00. If you max bet, wouldn't that be 5x each denomination? I thought that machine went from 25 cents to $10.

  6. #146
The denominations on #3116 are 25-cents, 50-cents, $1 and $2. If you want to multiply those by 5 coins go ahead but the denominations are what they are.

Quick (1&1/2 hour) trip to casino today. This is first time since last week's trip where I got aces with kicker 7 times.

Got a Royal for $1 on a 3 card hold. As previously stated, I never win at VP. This is first royal in quite some time, and again follows that 1 day where aces ran wild.

Hope this keeps up--I will be in AC on business end of week.

I missed the report about quad aces with kickers SEVEN times? Wow. With results like that, who needs a royal!!

Yes-see #79. I go years without big winners. Now all of a sudden a few in a row. Do you think it's the lucky $2.00 bill I got from the daughter of a friend that died. He collected $2.00 bills and she has been giving them out to "special" friends. Or maybe because I have been hitting the draw button with my left pinkie. It can't just be a lucky streak.

4 on DDB at $1.00 ( $2,000 each); 2 unfortunately on Bonus for 50 cents ($200 each); and the best one on $2.00 TDBP (that's $8,000).
Yes, I remember this now. Great run.

    Regnis,
Congrats on the big winners. I collect $2 bills myself. Going to have to put one in my wallet for next trip.

    I also collect $2 bills.

Years ago I took a sheet of $1 bills and cut it up into strips of 2, 3, and 5 and used them to make bets at the craps table at Caesars.

"$3 on the hard 6" and I would reach into my pocket and pull out the strip of three, folded to appear as one bill, and watch the boxman fumble with it. It was New Year's Eve and it was a hoot.

    I like that one Alan.

I always avoided $2.00 bills because as a horse player, they ( and $50's) are actually considered bad luck. But I had to accept this $2.00 bill because it was a very real and nice gesture by the daughter of the deceased and meant a lot to her and it would have been disrespectful to refuse.

I will remove it from my wallet when at the track however.

New York City cab drivers (at least back in the old days) would not accept $2 bills as being bad luck. But in Boston, $2 bills are commonly used in commerce.

  15. #155
Why collect $2 bills? Are they expected to be worth more down the road? I got two of them as change a few days ago at Checker Auto Parts. I don't see that often.

  16. #156
For the most part $2 bills are an oddity and the chances that current $2 bills in circulation will have a collectible value is nil. There are rare, collectible $2 notes but they are older. You should check your paper currency for errors such as misaligned serial numbers and misprints and overprints as they can be valuable.

But unlike silver coins $2 bills in circulation today have no special value. You can buy sheets of $2 bills from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (as I did) by going to www.moneyfactory.com.

I just think it will be neat some day to give my grandson a fat envelope full of $2 bills, silver certificates and older currency collectables. Not to mention a large coin and silver collection.

    Back to hit and run...

Saturday night August 30th Rincon in San Diego had its hourly drawings for free play plus $50,000 given to one player at 11pm. I swiped my card early Saturday morning before I left after Friday night's play and I was hoping for a $1,000 free play prize. But it was risky making the drive to be disappointed and coming up with nothing. I also did not want to gamble because I have a Vegas trip planned and I didn't want to blow my budget.

So, I showed up at Rincon at about 10pm. If I won one of the hourly $1,000 free play drawings I had till midnight to claim it. I was not picked for free play. Bummer. I didn't think I had a chance for the $50K prize and I was right -- I didnt have a chance.

But I did have $95 of free play from cashing in reward credits. I played 25-cent Aces and Faces and while I played for quite a while thanks to two-pairs, and a couple of full houses, there was nothing "big." No quads. Soon the free play was gone.

I had a few minutes to "kill" before the 11pm drawing so I put $100 into the $1 Double Double Bonus progressive which was at $4200. This game also pays progressives on quad aces and the other small quads, and quads with kickers so it's a fun game even though it's 8/5.

I immediately started to hit winners -- and then holding two aces I drew two more aces for a progressive pay of about $830. I took a photo, and at the same time, I posed for photos with some others who watch my show... and ran.

Another "hit and run" tonight to Rincon. I had $285 of bounce back money from play in July, plus $90 of Monday free play, plus $250 from converting Reward Credits. Total available: $625.

I played $1 Aces and Faces but didn't do as well as I hoped for -- cashed out $485. But I had dinner in the Cafe with one of our forum members (used my weekly food voucher for the first time in a long time) and we got to catch up on things.

I was really hoping to cash out at least $500, and that would have been an 80% return on this game with an "expected return" of 99.2%. With $625 I had only 125 hands and there were no "big hands" -- and not even one full house.

But after spending $40 for gas (ARCO had premium at $3.75 today) and a $5 tip in the Cafe at Rincon (total check was $27 including the tax because we didn't eat much) I'm not complaining.
