Thread: Anybody stayed at the new Cromwell yet?

  1. #1
We're in the planning stages for a new Vegas trip. We're Mlife members and get our nights comped at NYNY, Monte Carlo and the Mirage. We're considering to spend a couple of nights at the new Cromwell as well. I've seen a number of pictures of the renovations and I was impressed. I like the location of the Cromwell, the fact that it's small (I would NEVER stay at MGM) and completly redone. Has anyone stayed there yet? Is there still construction going on? How are the new rooms, customer service, etc? Any advice is welcome....

    Thanks!

You certainly can't beat the location, and the architecture is amazing. I haven't been in the place but I was told the casino is relatively small, not crowded with low limit gaming. I don't think this is much help and I also look forward to some trip reports about the place.

Regarding low limit gaming, I heard there was $10 craps there, which would match what's available at nearby Flamingo, Ballys and Paris. But even Caesars now offers $10 most of the time.

Oddly enough, I have not seen any advertising in Los Angeles regarding the Cromwell, nor have I received any marketing materials from Caesars about it. That makes me wonder if the place isn't "ready yet"?

Did they makeover all the rooms there or just fix the exterior? The rooms were pretty bad when I was last in one--but that goes all the way back to Barbary days.

Oddly, and I guess we'll never figure out Caesars marketing, but I have been inundated with Cromwell offers. And I have only been to Vegas once a year for the horse tournament for the last several years, after which I stay 2 extra days at Caesars.

I am very curious about the rooms. But I did see the construction. That hotel was stripped down to its girders -- there were no rooms for a while. I doubt they would put the same furniture back in after moving it out. (But it is Caesars and anything could happen, couldn't it?)

I have not stayed at the Cromwell but today in a trip report on another forum there are a lot of photos of the Cromwell rooms bysomeone who stayed there. It looks like the rooms have beautiful furnishings, even a wood floor (unusual for hotels), but bathroom remain small. Also it is less than 200 rooms so there apparently is more of a personal touch.

200 rooms... and how many housekeepers? I'd like to see the ratio. Perhaps they are hoping that the youngsters who stay there won't want housekeeping?

Did I tell you about the New Year's Weekend at Caesars when I couldnt get my room made up for two days... not even clean towels?

I haven't been there yet, but I did receive a 2 for 1 offer for their new Giada's Italian restaurant from TR.

Do you have a link to that trip report? I would be very interested in reading it and I'm very curious about the room pictures.

Thanks for all the input folks!

    Hi Vegas Lover:

I would like to link it but it is behind the members pay wall of Lasvegasadvisor.com. You can see if you can find it under Trip Reports and "Summer of Tournaments - Day 43"

I'm curious: has anyone walked into a hotel and asked to look at a room because you want to plan for a future trip or group stay?

I am curious about this place, too. Will try to check it out soon and report back. Already saw the casino, which looks pretty nice, but I really do want to see the rooms.
