Thread: loss rebates anyone?

  1. #1
Do any of the CET casinos have unadvertised loss rebates for level 1-2 seven star players? Will a loss of $5,000-$20,000 over a day or a weekend get you anything special from your host? Losses when markers are used any different? Is it appropriate to ask? Can a big win get you anything extra? Just curious....

Rincon gives rebates to table game players. I think the rebates start with $5000 of losses over a month. But Rincon does this because there is little or no free play for tables.

I'm not in the daily ranges you mentioned in your post for Vegas. I don't know... but I would certainly ask.

Maybe others will have more info?

I've experienced a few 5-figure losses up to $33000 in a day and quite a few 5-figure wins up to over $90000. I never talk to hosts because it's the surest way to be watched more closely and to dilute the more lucrative offers that would be spit out of the marketing computers. Just remember, the more you do and act exactly how the casinos want & expect a player to do, the more your opportunities will decline. That said, whenever I lose big, I'm in no mood to chitchat with anybody until I get home, and when I win big I just want to get away from casinos until the next visit some other day. Asking for rebates or anything else has no value for me, because more damage can be done by rising above the radar than staying where you belong.

Not sure how I would be able to avoid my hosts. They check on me usually in the first few minutes I put my card in a machine for the day and ask me if I need anything. Usually I say I am fine. When I need something I email in advance. I have had my host schedule my annual retreat. I have asked my host o get me comped room over new years eve and a second room for friends. Show tickets, Alice Cooper, Huey Lewis, and recently George Thorogood I have been able to get nice dinners on occasion. My host contacted me to give me a birthday dinner and also a couple of nice exclusive off site parties in the last year. My host has got me in slot and blackjack tournaments. Recently asked to participate a slot team event where my host had a team of 10 people and played against other hosts teams where the winning team got all of the money. I probably wouldn't ask for anything after a large loss but if they approach me and offer something that would be fine. I just wonder if this happens and at what level?

It must be a Harrahs thing, at times, or maybe it's a result of calling and/or talking to hosts as a "regular". I've been playing at all levels for the past 15 years, including at CET properties, and I've never had a host track me down at a machine. My mindset has always been to stay away from all casino employees and just do my thing and get out. I'm there to win directly from the machines, not to visit with "friends" or have anyone keep an eye on me. And if I earn something extra for my play then that's fine. If it's far less than what I thought it should be even if it's an obvious error, I simply let it go. I'm not there for the comps; I'm there for the money. You regularly see hundreds of people whine and complain on the forums about feeling they've been slighted by this casino or that host etc. You see that type of moaning here all the time regarding CET. That's because these people lose and want something more to help them feel better about their losses. IMO, that's not the right way to approach the overall game vs. casinos.

The hosts at CET properties are in fact supposed to make contact with their players. Its how they are rated for being good hosts. And the hosts want players to respond to surveys and to report the contact. Face to face contact gets the hosts more "points."
