Got an email tonight for a complimentary 3 night stay at the new Linq Hotel & Casino. I had never heard of this new place so I GOOGLED it and this is what I found.

The retail, dining and entertainment promenade known as The LINQ is now getting into the hotel business. The Quad Resort (which only a short time ago was the iconic pagoda of Imperial Palace) will be flipped once again to create the new, $223 million LINQ Hotel & Casino, which is now taking reservations for October.

The 2,256-room hotel sits right on Las Vegas Boulevard, and will be a complete overhaul of The Quad, renovating the lobby area to include a swank, signature bar, spa and retail shops, as well as a new pool deck set to open in Spring 2015. The popular Guy Fieri Vegas Kitchen and Bar will stay put, as will big breakfast spot Hash House a Go Go and TAG Lounge. The 550-foot High Roller anchors the rear of the promenade, while venues such as live music hotspot Brooklyn Bowl, mixology haven BLVD Cocktail Company, Asian market F.A.M.E., and shops such as Kitson and 12AM Run line the avenue between the observation wheel and the new property.

The rooms, available October 30 and starting at $89 per night, include 204 suites, completely redesigned to be urban chic, with floor-to-ceiling windows, modern amenities and spectacular views of the High Roller or the Strip.

The LINQ aims to be one of the most technologically forward hotels when it opens, with guests using automated check-in, as well as a touchscreen capabilities in the VIP lounge and concierge desk to research and make show or restaurant reservations. Also, the fifth floor rooftop of the hotel will be transformed into the 21,000-square-foot Vortex Roof Deck, a multi-purpose venue for weddings, fashion shows, live concerts and more.

"The LINQ Hotel & Casino will immerse guests into social lifestyle experiences through provocative yet approachable modern offerings," said Bob Morse, president of hospitality for Caesars Entertainment in a release. "This new hotel is bold, graphic, social and digital with dynamic community spaces designed for the socially engaged traveler."

If you've ever wondered how Las Vegas constantly reinvents itself, all you have to do is watch The LINQ transform into its new identity.

Imperial Palace... to the Quad... and now the high tech Linq. Okay. Looking forward to the first trip report.

I hope they repair the roof. It's not a pretty sight looking down on it from the 35th floor of Harrah's.

Years ago they eliminated the look of a swastika.

The place is a dump. Unless they have seriously renovated the rooms, I wouldn't suggest anyone staying there.

Dan and others: Google some of the recent articles in the Las Vegas Review Journal with illustrations of what the new rooms will look like.

I agree, they would have to give it a total overhaul to make it look like something normal...
