Thread: Finally Achieved Diamond Aspirations Level 2. 80,000 Tier Credits! Now what?

  1. #1
I reached Diamond Aspiration Level 2 during my last visit to Caesars a couple weeks ago. Barely made it---80,003 Tier Credits. Woo Hoo! Had just shy of 60k last year and don't have the time or budget to hit 150k for 7 Stars this year

ASPIRATION Level 2: 80,000 Tier Credits
Unlock an Annual Retreat with a $750 airfare credit, a New Year’s Eve offer, VIP round-trip airport transportation between the Total Rewards destination you are visiting and an airport within 50 miles, Companion Card to share your priority service benefits with a friend, early check-in/late check-out, upgrades to best available room at check-in, and reimbursed fees on check cashing and credit card advances.

I'm pretty excited and want to take advantage of the perks that come with Diamond Aspiration Level 2. I'll probably have more questions, but right now my questions are about the $750 airfare credit and the Diamond Companion Card.

    1. Is there a date that I need to take my annual retreat by for the $750 airfare credit? Thought I read online by March 31st 2015?

    2. How does this diamond companion card process work? Once I designate a companion, am I locked into that person for an entire year? Or can one change companions on different trips? I'm thinking free drinks with the boys in the Diamond lounge on different trips

  2. #2
I can comment about the companion card: yes you are locked in for a year. You will sign a form that makes you feel you are getting married (or getting married again).

  3. #3
Thanks Alan. That's a bummer about being locked into the companion card. It does sound like marriage. Funny.

I have a few trips in mind (for over the next year) with different friends where it would have been nice to get that third person into the Diamond lounge. I'll just have to choose a friend to lock in now. Can the companion go the Diamond lounge anytime, even when I'm not in Vegas? Can the companion bring their own guest to the Diamond lounge (probably not)?

  4. #4
I'm not sure what the privileges are that are attached to a companion Diamond card or a companion 7 Stars card other than "line cutting." I don't know if a "companion card" holder can bring in a guest to a Diamond Lounge. My initial "guess" is why not?

But remember a "companion" cannot use your comps, and a "companion" is still rated on their own play and they will have their own Total Rewards number on their companion card and NOT your number.

  5. #5
I hadn't thought about the "companion card" holder "line cutting". That's great too. I was just more excited about them getting cocktails in the Diamond lounge. It can be nice sometimes to take a break from the gambling and have one at the bar without being charged $16 a drink.

  6. #6
I don't drink so I am curious about this: if you are playing slots or tables are their restrictions on what kind of drink you can order from a cocktail server? For example, can you order a glass of champagne or a pina colada or some special mixed cocktail? Or is there a limited menu?

  7. #7
As far as I know, a companion card, whether associated with a Diamond Aspirations or 7stars, will allow a cut into the 7stars line and will allow the companion into a Diamond lounge but NOT with a guest. Ccerts, I believe you are also entitled to the same airport transportation (limo) as a 7stars And you get the Aspirations trip.

BUT......i think that your benefits are only good until March 31 of the year following. In other words, someone who makes 7stars this calendar year has the privileges until March 31 of 2016. A Diamond Aspirations made this calendar year only has those privileges until March 2015. Although you would still be a Diamond for access to the Diamond lounge and any Diamond lines. And may still be able to take your trip after that, I forget.

The priveileges only good until March 2015 are the companion pass and airport transportation. I think this is all in the fine print on the Total Rewards website.

You should check carefully for planning your trip.

  8. #8
And yes, you can get any drink they make at slots and tables.

So I could get a virgin pina colada? thanks.

I don't know how much you won or lost ccerts and it's not necessary to say. But don't you feel just a tad out of sorts by congratulating yourself for doing something the casino wanted you to do all along? It seems now all you'll be doing is coming on and griping and whining and whimpering like Dan, over a nickel here and a dime there that you felt "entitled" to but got "cheated" out of. I hope instead, you act like a grown up about this stuff.

  11. #11
Rob there seem to be two options for ccerts:

    1. Take advantage of all of the comps that he is entitled to

    OR

    2. Be like you and leave a lot of money on the table that will go back to feed the casino.

Now, Rob, since you hate the casinos so much, which do you think is the better option?

I think ccerts should take advantage of all of the offers and promotions he is entitled to and enjoy his casino visits. The last thing he should do is follow your example which must be a miserable time of only playing and then bolting the casino and not enjoying his time there.

To Rob- Unfortunately, I lost a bunch getting up to 80k tier credits. Didn't play the smartest either. But I understand and I accept responsibility. You are right, there should be no congratulations (though they might be in order if I'd won to getting my way to Diamond Aspirations 2). Nope no whining from me. I just need to take advantage of all of the offers and promotions, enjoy my casino visits, not expect any discretionary comps, play smart and within my budget. Moving forward, I'll just be diamond and that's fine enough with me.

So back to the original post....Is there a date that I need to take my annual retreat by for the $750 airfare credit? Thought I read online by March 31st 2015?

I'm still a little confused and this still doesn't seem to be entirely clear. Please tell me if this is right or wrong...

My Diamond Status will be good through March 31st, 2016.
My Diamond Aspiration 2 Status is only good through March 31st, 2015.

Meaning my Diamond Companion Card is only valid through March 31st, 2015
    -and-
My $750 Airfare credit must be used by March 31st, 2015

Of course he should grab onto whatever they toss his way because he lost in the process--which is exactly how the casino laid it out to happen. What I advocate is more intelligent play for a far better chance of coming out ahead of the machines, because then, as a winner, leaving stuff "on the table" as you say, is totally irrelevant. I leave a ton of it behind and couldn't care less because I've won so much from CET. And THAT'S how you treat casinos you have no love loss for.

Without a doubt, one of the most ridiculous things you ever wrote: you leave money behind? You. Rob Singer, who is out to extract the last platelet of blood from casinos leaves money behind? Absurd. And it not only challenges the imagination but also makes us wonder if you really won what you claimed.

NO ONE who is so devoted to winning and beating the casinos would leave money behind.

There is no such thing as "Diamond Aspiration 2 status", aside from the additional perks you get.

    So:

Your Diamond status is good through 3/31/16.

All other benefits, including your airfare, must be used by 3/31/15 or they expire.

Here is my advice I posted earlier regarding booking the Seven Stars trip, which is very similar to the Diamond Aspirations Level 3 trip, except you only get $750 in airfare (instead of $1200) and no food credit.

The rest of the advice still applies. I have modified it to apply to Diamond Aspirations Level 2, so it's easier for you to use this advice.

    ---

As a benefit of being a Diamond Aspirations 2 member, you get an "annual trip" to any North American Caesar's-owned property, plus airfare.

However, it is not easy or convenient to book this. Here are some tips on getting it done fastest:

    Hotel Portion

You will probably run into a lot of frustration trying to book this, as hosts love to pass the buck to one another. Call your host, and unless you've been giving them a ton of action lately, they will probably tell you to just call the property you want to visit. Then you'll call your property you want to visit, and they will tell you that you should call your host! This is what computer scientists like me call "an endless loop"!

In reality, it is best to secure the hotel directly with the property you're visiting. Your "home casino" host can also do it, but the process will be slower, they may balk at doing this in the first place, and you will typically get inferior rooms/treatment because your host does not know the other property well.

If you call the casino you're visiting, they will be more excited to have you there, as you are a high Diamond member (i.e. a big gambler) and they want you there.

Call the casino you're going to visit, ask for the host on duty, and explain that you want to book your Diamond aspirations trip. Do not let them pass the buck back to your home host. Tell them that you were told it's the destination property's responsibility to arrange this (which it is). Make sure you get an "Executive Casino Host", and not just some scrub.

You will get 4 nights free.

Also, try to ask for a suite. They will usually give this to Seven Stars members on their annual trips, unless you're visiting during a holiday or event where they are otherwise booked up. They might do it for Diamond Aspirations, as well.

There are no blackout dates for the Aspirations Trip. Do not let them deny you the trip just because you want to go over New Year's, or whatever.

Secure the room FIRST, before moving on to the flight stuff.

    Booking Your Flight

Caesar's will cover your airfare, up to $375 per person, for two people. You do not get any kind of "change" from the $375, so if you book a cheap flight (like $200), you are just saving Caesar's money. You are only entitled to a coach/economy ticket on Caesar's dime. However, your host might be willing to give you permission to book first/business class or economy plus, provided it still stays under $600 per ticket.

This process is a pain in the ass. DO NOT COUNT ON YOUR HOST TO DO EVERYTHING FOR YOU, as they will not likely do an efficient job with it, and you will get a terrible flight with all kinds of stops (or at a lousy time of day).

    1) Research your itinerary on the internet first. Go to kayak.com first, then to southwest.com because they aren't included in kayak's results. You are looking to keep each ticket under $375 (or $750 for one person). Try to find flights that are nonstop and most convenient for you without breaking over the $375 per person limit. Keep in mind that you can still book flights that cost more than $375, if you agree to pay the difference. If you barely go over, your host might choose to pay for the whole thing rather than force you to cover a difference under $50.

    2) Once you have found the flights you want, call Passport at 1-800-984-8004. Select "Total Rewards travel" on their menu. They are open Monday-Friday, 9:00am to 3:30pm Pacific time. Have them quickly verify that your flights can be booked through their system. They will almost always say yes. You will need your host to actually book it, though.

    3) E-mail your host your itinerary. The host needs to get involved at this point. Make sure to include the dates/times, flight numbers, airlines, and full passenger information, including first/middle/last names, dates of birth, and frequent flier #s. You should also state seating preferences, such as window/aisle/etc, as well as the fact that you don't want a non-reclining seat. Then call your host and ask him/her to e-mail it to Passport. If you don't want to call your host, you can also just wait for him/her to respond to their e-mail, if time isn't of the essence. However, don't wait too long, as airline prices can change (and move you past the $600 mark!)

    4) After your host agrees to e-mail passport, wait 24 hours. If you do not hear back from your host (with a forwarded e-mail from Passport, asking you to verify what they are going to book), call your host and ask if he/she has heard from Passport yet.

    5) Once you get the e-mail from Passport, go over it carefully and make sure everything is right. Make sure that you are assigned seats, and check where they are on the plane. If you don't like those seats, they can change them. If everything is fine, e-mail your host back and say that it's all fine.

    6) Within another 24 hours, you should get a confirmation that it's all booked. Call your host if you don't.

    Other useful flight-related info:

    Other useful info:

    - You can take your round trip through different airports. For example, if you want to fly to Atlantic City, but want to take your own little trip after that to Boston, you can do that without returning to Atlantic City for the flight home. Just find a flight that goes from your home airport to Atlantic City, and a return flight that goes from Boston back to your home. Provided the whole thing stays under $375 each, Passport Travel will not object, and will approve this itinerary. They also don't care what dates you fly (as long as your hotel stay falls somewhere in between).

    - If you want to take additional people, you have to pay. However, Passport will book the whole thing and make sure you get seats together (at your request).

    - The 30-day advance notice that they warn you about is BS. You can plan your annual trip much closer than 30 days. However, you should do it at least a few weeks in advance in order to keep the airfares under $375.

    Other Important General Info

You already earned this trip. You are not required to play. Just relax and make a non-gambling vacation out of it, if you want. Since you will not be at your "home" property, this won't even affect your regular host.

You will get a limo to and from the airport. This is free. They will NOT pay for any portion of a rental car, though. You need to call the property you're visiting to arrange the limo.

Looking for a place to go? Not all Caesar's destinations are created equal! Check out this page: http://www.sevenstarsinsider.com/ ... Go down the left bar and click on the hotels that interest you, and you will get a great description of each property, aimed at Seven Stars members who are considering taking a trip there. Personally, I would recommend destinations with something to do, or ones that are close to other places you want to visit anyway. For example, last year I took my trip to Atlantic City, and then moved on to do a New York/New England trip, flying back from Boston. Don't waste this trip on some garbage like Kansas City (unless you have family there).

If you hate traveling, don't waste this trip! You can use this for a free flight, even if you don't use the hotel part at all. Let's say you want to visit your mother in New York. Book your annual trip to Atlantic City, go through the above steps to book the flight, except make the filght in and out of JFK (this is allowed). Then after the flight is booked, call Atlantic City a few days before the trip and tell them you can't make it, and to give up your room to someone else. You can still take the flight, as that will already be booked and paid for!

All that rant tells me Alan is that you really do not know what it's like to win. First you should understand the word "win" meaning to have the casinos' former money in your account by the end of the year. It's something you either know at year's end, or anytime earlier by not playing as much or as high as you did when winning--as happens to be my case. And once you have beaten the casino(s) at their machines, you have no care or concern if you'll ever grab onto any of the free stuff from slot club membership. I don't care one bit about cruises since we've been on quite a few with our children over our earlier years. Gifts? They're a waste of my time, since I can buy anything I want or need from my winnings. Free play/bounce back cash etc.? As a pro I knew I would always return. These days I'd NEVER return to any casino for that stuff because it's their chance to get the money back, and it's exactly what they want and expect every player to do.

If all players were to wise up and not let their addictive craving for more action take over their lives, the casinos would close their doors. It is that simple.

    I don't understand.

You won't return for freeplay or gifts because "that's how they get their money back"?

    How?

You can easily return and not play at all (aside from the freeplay).

This is once again Singer just spouting off nonsense.

Also LOL @ you claiming you win so much that free gifts don't matter to you. Suddenly Rob is so rich that he is turning down free items.

Someday you may learn. Most gamblers go back for the "free stuff" and end up playing and losing even more. Just as the casino designed it. If you want to believe they're doing it out of an exceptional customer service policy, you will never have a winning year. A hack like yourself probably HAS to appear for the "free LOL gifts" because your gut constantly aches over losing all those wages, and you need SOMETHING to soothe the pain. Learn to win Dan by playing a LOT smarter than you do, and you'll see that going to the stores to BUY all that stuff with money won from the casinos, produces a FAR better feeling than you and your "I'm overcomped" cries.
