Thread: Caesars fires the "Dealertainers" from blackjack games

  1. #1
At the Quad, you used to be able to find awful 6:5, 8-deck blackjack. The gimmick? The dealers were mostly young, pretty females, dressed up like known celebrities.

Only they looked nothing like the celebrities they were impersonating.

And the blackjack games were awful, and many people recognized that they could get 3:2 shoe blackjack elsewhere.

So they're finally all out. Not sure what will happen to those tables.

Interesting. The last time I was at the Rio which was several months ago, there weren't as many Singers performing on stage in the casino. Is the Rio also cutting out their Bevertrainers?

You know, the last time I was at the IP (Quad be damned as a name), I had a helluva time figuring out who the Dealertainers were supposed to be. I got Prince right, but nobody else.

I was at Rio last week to see Penn and Teller. I did see Bevertainers. The ones I saw did shake and move pretty well when dancing on the small stage. I doubt they will cut the Bevertainers because of labor reasons. Rio management wanted to get rid of the aging cocktail servers who had been there for many years but had to find a legally defensible reason to inject pretty young things into that position. Their solution was to make the job require "entertainers" where non-coincidentally they would have to dance well as part of the job description. I do not know if any long term cocktail waitresses passed the "Bevertainer" audition. I suspect that if Rio were to get rid of Bevertainers any time soon, it faces a labor claim.

    Regards, FAB

Interesting about the labor issue at the Rio. But enough years have passed that if they wanted to make a change now I doubt it would be an issue. It has to be more than 10 years since the Bevertainers started.

I think it's 10 years since most of their waitresses have breathed!!
