Thread: What "offers" will make you go to a casino?

  1. #1
Anyone who has ever joined a "players club" or a "slot club" at a casino knows that with some play or regular play the casino is likely to send you some sort of offers to prompt you to visit. What offers do you need to motivate you?

Most players like to know they are getting "something" when they make a visit -- whether it's free play or a free room or perhaps a concert ticket or some combination of these "freebies" or other promotions.

So what do you need to pull the trigger?

What prompted me to ask is that my mailer from a casino for the second half of July just arrived in the mail. These mailers include "free play" offers. In the past I was able to use two daily back-to-back free play offers. But in the new mailer, none of the free play offers is back-to-back with another -- there is a day or two in between which makes using the "free play" less attractive.

The combination of comped rooms and free play triggers us to go to Vegas. Showtickets don't do it for me most of the time because we're not Cirque fans and we're not really enthousiastic about all the Magic shows either. Stand-up comedy and good live music is what we like but we prefer to pick the shows we want to see.

With the current airfare, comped rooms and free play make it interesting to come back to Vegas. If we didn't get that we would probably come to Vegas less and visit some other places like Jamaica, Cuba, Brazil, South Africa, etc.

Vegas_Lover, you really are a Vegas Lover!! How can you possibly put a trip to Vegas over a trip to Jamaica, Brazil, South Africa? (I left out Cuba intentionally.) How much free play does it take to get you to choose Vegas over Brazil, for example? This post of yours really made me smile!

It's always the combination of free play and comped rooms. If one of the two is left out, other destinations become more appealing. Don't forget, coming from Europe prices for travelling to one of these places don't always differ all that much. We go on 3 to 4 trips a year. Two trips with our kids and two without. The ones without the kids will be Vegas trips. We choose Vegas over the other destinations mentioned because there isn't a destination that can beat the climate, dining options, entertainment options, etc.

Last year I got an offer for 4 nights comped, $500 in free play and $350 in compensation for the airfair. Now, that's the kind of offer I can't refuse......When I get an offer like that, I call the resort and ask what they can do for me if we come for 7 to 10 nights (our usual trip lenght). Next October we'll be in Vegas again for 8 nights, paying for none of them and we get $700 in free play. Not bad if you ask me.

Oh and to be honoust.....Vegas could be the only destination for me to visit without the kids. Even if the offers we got were bad. I love Vegas and I don't really need alot of encouragement to go...

Ya know Vegas_Lover, I forgot you're not from around here... Knowing that you are from Europe makes it understandable that you could rank Vegas ahead of the other destinations. I'm spoiled. Vegas is a four hour car drive for me. I've made the drive just to play craps for four hours and then drove right back.

Exactly, man I wish we were in that positionl That being said, one of the important things to do while in Vegas in October is go see some real estate to buy a second home there. Prices are great for us Europeans at this moment.
