The tax form was dated in the old year and he missed the outside fireworks but had plenty of inside fireworks arguing with the staff.

urgh! that blows! I heard a story (not sure if it was true or not), where a guy won 1million on 31st December, lost it on 1st Jan and was liable for all the taxes. now that sucks! (if it's true!)

Jennifer Lopez is now confirmed for New Year's Eve at Caesars Palace.

The show will be in the Colosseum which means about 4,000 tickets.

The "party" will probably be in the various ballrooms on the second and third floors of the Palace Tower. Or, it might be in the Events Center which is rarely used -- it's the large building beyond the pools.

Many have described her as “the Doris Day of today” and “a pinup doll with a voice reminiscent of Peggy Lee meets Patsy Cline.” Keith began her professional career appearing weekly at the beautiful Madison supper club in Long Beach, California, where she learned the classic vocal stylings of the jazz and pop singers of the ‘40s and ‘50s. She was heavily influenced by leading vocalists of the greatest era of music including Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Keely Smith, Julie London and June Christy. In 2010, the Jennifer Keith Quintet began an engagement every Friday and Saturday night in the Observation Bar aboard the prestigious Queen Mary in Long Beach. It's late, but it finally arrived: my New Year's Eve invitation for the Caesars properties in Vegas. Yes, it includes the formal invitation for J.Lo at Caesars Palace. There are two offers at other casinos for $700 free play (Rio and Harrah's) plus various dinners/brunches.

This was a formal invitation -- came in a large envelope (slightly larger than 8.5 X 11) and include glossy printed invitations. Photos below.

Looks like I will be canceling my reservation at Rincon.

The hard part is choosing a restaurant.

    http://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/...e/NYE2014.aspx

  7. #47
The only "problem" with cancelling at Rincon is that you are giving up your chance for the million dollar drawing. Unlike last year, this year the winner must be present.

Remember that a year ago they did not require the winner to be present because they didn't think they could handle the size of the crowd. I guess this year they are prepared for a bigger crowd -- or perhaps many of us realize that we don't stand "a snowball's chance on Las Vegas Boulevard at Flamingo at 3pm on August 10th" to win it so we aren't going to go.

    FYI

My friend (platinum) just told me he was invited to J Lo with room for 3 nights for $2,000.

  9. #49
Aaron, I suspected that they would be selling J.Lo tickets. As I wrote previously -- there are probably 1,000 invited guess for NYE but the Colosseum has about 4,300 seats so selling seats to the public makes perfect sense. I am sure they will give TR members priority in getting the seats. Three nights for $2,000 at Caesars Palace for NYE is about right with tickets included.

Posted in another thread 11/12/14 about JLo and NYE:

Originally Posted by Alan Mendelson View Post

Here's why: it is likely that only 1,000 people are being invited to Caesars for the NYE party and event. It's been about 1,000 in the past (sometimes fewer) and 1,000 is about the most they can handle for the dinner and the Sunday brunch.

But J.Lo will be performing in the Colosseum with about 4,300 seats. That means 3,300 seats will be available.

In the meantime, Total Rewards players who took offers from the other hotels have other events and shows planned at their respective hotels. So what does Caesars do with the other 3,300 seats? Sell them seems like the obvious choice.

I just called the box office at Caesars and asked if J.Lo tickets were available for NYE and of course they had no knowledge of the event -- YET.

I think in the next couple of days Caesars will be sending out more invitations to players who have not yet responded to NYE offers to ask them about the J.Lo concert. Perhaps it will be a "secondary" NYE event without a dinner and without a new year's brunch.

Just checked the rates for Caesars Palace.

December 30th is $554 for a Palace Tower room, and $674 for December 31st.

January 1st is $329, and December 29th is just $179.

So $2000 for three nights + J Lo is nothing special.

Augustus and Octavius are sold out.

  13. #53
We will get the room and meals, plus around $500 play, a brunch, the New Year's Eve Dinner and Party with a New Orleans Band, a $30,000 Cash Drawing and a Champagne Classic Crystal Flute Give Away.

Yes. They are sending out invitations because the basic "7 Stars Party" has about 1800 guests and there are more than 4,000 seats for JLo.
