Thread: New rules. Or... A reminder about the current rules.

Rob when do I get that dinner you owe me? Isn't there some rule about paying your bets?
And isn't there some rule about remembering what you've been ttoldtwice before? So once again, it will happen when I make my next trip to that city. I'm not some casino rat who goes to LV every week like you. I also am respectful of my wife's wishes to travel, which is just one of the reasons why I've remained married only once. Trust. Respect. Love. They all come before an insatiable need for gambling action.

Get hungry. The day will come. Just as I've promised.

But I had no guarantee that the others would be there waiting for me. I hate to say it, but many times I've had "meet ups" scheduled in Vegas and for one reason or another someone is a no show.

I think regnis summed it up nicely this way:
Alan, you cannot be much of a businessman or much of anything else, really, if you're now trying to claim "How'd I know these schmucks were gonna be there anyway"? That's pathetic. Please stop digging your moral hole and man up to the fact that what you did was wrong and downright rude. And if there's any chance at all that you could miss your commitment, you don't get involved in any activity you know might have even the slightest chance at all to cause the other party grief. What Dan said.

With all respect to the other forum members: sorry, but I was winning a lot of money. So if you won't accept that leaving the table would have been rude than try to accept that winning a lot of money was damn better than any meet up at the Great Gift Wrap Up.

  4. #44
Yes, it was better FOR YOU, as you chose to put yourself in a position that had the potential of making a prior commitment irrelevant. And why? BECAUSE THE INCESSANT, CONSTANT NEED FOR GAMBLING ACTION, AS I'VE SAID MANY TIMES, HAS COMPLETELY TAKEN OVER YOUR LIFE, and nothing is more important. This, respectfully, is a problem.

That's it Rob. You are banned.

  6. #46
What's wrong with what Rob wrote. I don't understand why he was banned for having an opinion. People have been calling you names and being a lot more disrespectful than telling you that you have a gambling problem. You've been told you were dumber than the character on dumb and dumber. But, you choose to Ban Rob from what he said? I happen to agree with Rob. Would you like to ban me too?

  7. #47
As I wrote in another thread, Rob was banned for a number of insulting comments. I am thick skinned and I can take 'em. Others are not as thick skinned as I am. I personally pleaded with Rob to lay low but he just couldn't. I guess I will never collect that dinner he owes me.

Rob wasn't the only one who was recently banned. And from now on I will not hesitate to ban others. And if there is no one left on the forum, I'll close it down.

How unfortunate. But, I still don't see what was so wrong about his comment. Maybe you should take yourself out of the equation and read it again.

Rob Singer has no right or credential to pass judgment on anyone. Vpnewbie would you appreciate comments about your frequent play at Rincon and Pechanga being indicative of you having a gambling problem?

I think it is kinda strange you feel that the ban for mickeycrimm was long overdue while Rob's personal attacks and insults have been flying around for about two years, he has been banned before for his behavior and never really cleaned up his act. Must be me, but I don't get that.

I'm with Alan on this one for 200%. It's disturbing too see that people lowered their standards in regards to the amount of personal attacks that are acceptable. I have stayed away from this forum for a long time because some individuals were bringing out the worst in me. I've even had words with Alan in the past and I have even been banned. When all is said and done, I think Alan was right to ban me at that moment because I was responding out of frustration. That's what happens when people constantly insult you while you are expected to remain civil (and it wasn't Alan who was insulting me). It makes your blood boil to the point where you say things you regret after the fact. This forum had become the place where you could burn people to the ground without consequences and that's not the direction any forum host wants to go.

Singer has always been a cancer on any forum he has been allowed to comment freely. Like all cancers that can lead to additional growth (comments), but none of it is healthy.

Are Rob and Mickey's bans permanent?

I don't recall Rob ever throwing out Cuss words or "F" bombs. Yeah, he's egotistical and insulting. But aren't most of the people on here? That will never change. I'll admit I haven't been on here for weeks because of Mickey and the Men that act like little boys. Alan, I do respect. He never stooped down to the "boys" levels ever!

Let me ask you Alan. Do you think you have a gambling problem? It does seem to take over your life and that's why this forum does so well.

I think Rob adds a lot of positive influences in the discussions forum and he doesn't care about comps like most of the people on here do. I really like that he argues against them. That's how I feel.

Vpnewbie: I only have a gambling problem when I lose.

For the record: I've lost more money on bad dates and ex wives than I ever lost in casinos.

AMEN! When VP players lose it's not even a gambling problem; rather, it's a button timing problem. Losing craps players have a hand-eye coordination problem.

Count Room you are soooo wrong. Losing craps player have a problem with the stickman changing, and with the cocktail waitress taking drink orders at the wrong time, and with shooters starting to smile, and with the floorman starting a conversation with the shooter, and with a player buying into the game, and with a player coloring up, and with....

You left out the worst one---the wife walks up to the table in the middle of the guy's roll.

Whenever "she" (wife or girlfriend) walks up to the table I say to her "now you can't leave because that would break the curse."

After a while they learn -- and never walk up to the table.
