Thread: Happy Thanksgiving

  1. #1
I want to wish all of our Forum friends a very happy and safe Thanksgiving. Because of the Tryptophan I caution you not to "turkey and drive." Perhaps every Thanksgiving feast should have at least one vegan designated driver?

And since this is a Vegas forum, has anyone noticed if the Tryptophan-foods such as Turkey and not "pushed" at casino buffets?

Thanks. I hope you and your love ones have a great one too.

Speaking of Black Friday... a lot of casinos are advertising Black Friday promotions, giveaways, free play because they probably expect to be empty.

Caesars has free play and gift cards, Rincon has giveaways every ten minutes, Pechanga has giveaways every ten minutes... and on and on.

Wishing all our forum friends a Happy Thanksgiving and a Royal Flush!

The Nash's don't do bird but don't blame the turkey if you need a nap at halftime. Blame that extra large plate and the seconds, and the thirds. Oh and the wine and beer certainly helps too. Turkey doesn't really have any more tryptophan than chicken.

TIP: Do not use the carpool lanes on the highway on Thanksgiving. Families are traveling together, so everyone crowds the carpool lane, and it actually moves slower.

The problem with most carpool lanes is that they are single lanes and any slow-poke will slow you down and with a single lane carpool you could be trapped. I purchased a speed pass for the 91 in an attempt to make the drive to Rincon faster but I gave up using the car pool lane -- the cost did not justify the time saving which I figured at maybe five minutes.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

On Black Friday i will be up early to head to Palm Springs for the Liquidation Sale of the Spa Resort Hotel!! I wonder how long the lines will be. I already know what i want. Hope to get in and out quickly as i then need to head to Vegas for the weekend. I will be playing in the Bingo Tournament at Flamingo on Saturday morning.

Here is info on that sale: http://www.desertsun.com/story/news/...sale/70091386/

Doesn't seem like anything from the casino is for sale.

SlotPlayer, any idea what you're going to buy?

BTW charging $3 admission to this is pretty cheesy. At the very least they should refund it if you buy something.

Did not know about the entrance fee. Maybe that will make the line shorter. Alan, The Casino is staying open, only hotel items are for sale.

I just want to buy some pillows ( love them!) and some artwork. Maybe a lamp. I just dont have a way of taking big items because i would like one of their desks as well and so on.

FYI. There are also some videos on you tube on what's for sale. Items in the rooms had pricetags on them in the video. Gotta run. Late for work.

If you want pre owned hotel furnishings there is Hotel Surplus Outlet in Van Nuys and Just Like The Model in Irvine. No admission fees. :-)

I am on the mailing list for Hotel Surplus Outlet.

Spa Resort holds a special place in my heart, so hope to take some of that home with me on Friday.

I've decided NEVER to do thanksgiving at home again. Girlfriend is non stop cooking. Spent $650+ on food and accessories plus got a $55 parking ticket and I am ready to call it quits and go to whatever fast food drive in is open or do room service at Caesars.

    HA HA HA ALAN!

Well, at least you can use your new flatware and remember you can always get 2 free buffets at Rincon.

Alan are you sure it's not a small room addition for all of your forum friends coming over? I prefer white meat. I don't really care much about stuffing, accessories and parking tickets. Happy Thanksgiving to all of the nice folks in the forum here!
