Thread: The seven stars free play grind

  1. #1
I have for about 3 months only played my freeplay which has gone down 10 dollars a week each week. It is still a significant amount. I have been told by my host I am over comped and curious what you guys who know how long before I go from getting thousands per month to getting 0 as a seven star top 100 player at my total rewards casino. It has been 3 months and only dropped 10 bucks a week so far in that 3 months of no play. Thanks in advance.

**Seven star insider tip: If you get the 500 gift card and choose to use it in a gift shop make sure you get your 25% off first before you pay and also look for clearance items you can flip on ebay with the deep discounts...I turned 2500 of them into about 2k cash by buying vera bradley purses on clearance.

    It should fall pretty soon.

The offers are generated by computer, which is always a few months behind. If you played a long time consistently at a high level, it will fall more slowly than if you played briefly and then stopped.

"Overcomped" is not directly related to your offers, though there's definitely a connection between the two. Overcomped means that you have spent more comps than your play has earned you (for example, running freeplay without playing, staying in hotels with Seven Stars benefit without playing, etc.)

When you are overcomped, the host is unlikely to do anything for you. In fact, hosts hate overcomped players because they do not get as much commission from your play.

It is still possible to get offers while being way overcomped, such as if you concentrate all of your play at one property, yet don't redeem enough comps there to make yourself overcomped at that property itself.

For example, if you earn all of your tier credits at the Rincon, and tend to play all or most of the times you visit, you will still get offers, even if you are repeatedly staying in Vegas and not feeding a dime into the machines. This can create an odd situation where hosts at one property will do things for you, while hosts at other properties won't.

In general, a host will stay away from you if you are new to the property and show up already overcomped in the CET system. However, if you are profitable (theoretically) for a particular property, then that property may still do favors for you.

Will it literally go from say few thousand a month to 0 in short order though...especially if your top 100 player at the property and only play at one property. I have had some theoretical days in the 20k range in last 12 months.

    Hi. Thanks for joining.

If you don't mind can you be more specific about which casinos you played at and how much ($) you play?

A top 100 player at the Rio is a lot different than a top 100 at Caesars Palace or at Rincon. The info might help others to understand how they rank in the system.

Tunica Mississippi. I am ranked 44th for last quarter per my host in the top 100 of all their guests. I have also been told I am way over comped compared to my theoretical. I am just curious when the ride will stop as far as getting this nice freeplay weekly and not giving them any action beyond the free play.

I have no idea how the casino in Tunica operates. I think at Caesars propertied in Vegas and at Rincon in California you would see your free play cut by about 25% after three months of zero play and another 25% in another three months.

    Alan,

Appreciate the info. Do you think once it is 0...(will it go to 0 as a seven star? with history of big theoretical loss?) But assuming it goes to 0..will they sporadically send me big tempting ones?

cantbeatluck as Dan Druff has pointed out in other threads, being a 7 Stars player has little or even nothing to do with getting free play offers. Perhaps it's different at the casino you play at -- but at the casinos I play at those free play offers are either in reaction to your actual play or they are an incentive to get you to play.

If you don't play -- and by that I mean you never show up in the casino -- you might get an "incentive" free play offer to get you to "come back." I know TR members who haven't been to Vegas in a year who have received free play offers in the mail for $500 or $300 with an invitation to "return." These are one time offers.

Frankly, I don't know how they operate these days or what their formula is. Therefore I can't predict what will happen.

All I can say is that I was phased out at other casinos over the years, I found that the free play offers were cut by about 25% each quarter until they disappeared.

Another thing to keep in mind: eventually your 7 Stars will also disappear.

We stopped receiving offers since August from CET after doing a good bit of visiting without really doing significant play. We now have zero offers at all in the system, even after a big loss in June (at Rio, ironically- CP is coded as our home property). When we asked the host about it this weekend, he said "somebody must have turned them off because you had so many no play trips" and that the Rio trip wouldn't/couldn't override the no-play in the beginning of 2014. Makes me wonder if this host actually was the one who turned everything off and is hiding behind the corporation or if it really did fall off from the computer list. What was truly odd is that it never went down gradually, like, 1k, 750, 300....just BAM! nothing for you. Anybody else experience this?

Gigi anything is possible. These things are hard to predict. The bottom line is the computer system always wins. You can't milk it forever.

Yes, that happens..if you're overcomped (ie: many no play trips) they can put in the system "DO NOT LET THIS PERSON USE AN OFFER!" even though you DO qualify for it (technically).

I've never seen that before, and I am WAAAAY overcomped.

I think the person's offers just die out, like gigi's did.
