Thread: Can one get a check after a big table win?

  1. #1
I do not play a lot of table games except for craps. When I do, I always put $5 to $10 on a fire bet. I have never been on that bet for six hits but hope springs eternal.

Assuming that I hit it big on a table game, can I convert chips to a check from the casino when I reach the cage? Does it make any difference that I choose not to have a credit line? Does it depend on the casino?

Also when a six unique point fire bet hits, does the casino deduct taxes?

Does anyone have any personal experience regarding this?

    Thanks, FAB

Check policy depends on the casino. Some will gladly give you a check but some have check minimums.

Taxes are not withheld, however tax info is obtained as you will be given a W-2G depending upon the size of the win.

I don't know the procedure elsewhere, but in Chicago, they will stop the game (which pisses everyone off--that of course is one of the superstitions in craps) so they can get everyone's tax info. Of course, you can understand that they have to stop the game as otherwise people will run and not give their info for the W-2G.

Twice I received W2Gs for the firebet. The IDs were collected after the 7out but payments were not made until the tax forms were ready. The game continued with the next shooter while we waited for paperwork and payoffs.

If anyone wanted a check that was something to be handled at the cage.
