Thread: Tiffany Gift March 7 at Rincon

  1. #1
I received an email today that I qualified for a VIP gift giveaway at Rincon on Saturday, March 7th and the gift comes from Tiffany & Company. Yes, that Tiffany & Company with the blue box.

But I am not getting too excited about this. Why? Because in the past I was given VIP gifts that included "designer watches" that turned out to be $150-$175 Bulova or Fossil watches that had an actual "eBay value" of about $35.

But what about Tiffany, certainly this must be different? No, it probably won't be.

Tiffany & Co. is famous for having a large selection of gift items priced AT RETAIL at less than $40 each. In fact, there is a set of two decks of playing cards that come in a Tiffany blue box that are priced at only $35 RETAIL and if you ask me -- it would make a perfect "typical" gift for casino goers.

There are also sterling silver key chains for $100 and pens at $100 but I don't think that will be in the cards -- or in this case the blue box -- for me.

I will be going to "the event" but this time I am going with my eyes wide open to see just what kind of "VIP Gift" I will be getting -- and I am not expecting much at all.

There is a Bulova watch giveaway on March 21 -- but this time there is an option for $20 of free play if supplies run out. Usually this means there is a choice of $20 of free play or the watch. The Bulova watch is the TFX model. Well, I did a very quick web search and found that this particular watch model is marketed as a promotional gift watch that companies can order in volume. List price is $38.95 according to this web page:

Something is "fishy" about the Tiffany gift giveaway for March 7. Today, via snail mail, I received a mailer and "Tiffany" is no longer included in the offer. Now it's a "VIP luxury gift" "from your favorite Luxury Fifth Avenue jeweler!" (Exclamation point included in the quotes.)

What's the matter, Rincon? $40 items from Tiffany were too much and now you had to cut them even more?

My host emailed me that it's a Tiffany gift. Remember Tiffany has many, many gifts priced at $40 or less RETAIL.

Host just told me I can take 1 item from large gift table, 2 from medium or a $250 gift card.
They will be mailing the gifts.

    Aaron,

Where is the gift card to, Tiffany's?

Are you guys sure about the date being March 7th? I've heard from two people that it is March 1st. I'm also hearing conflicting dates on "mystery cash" offers.
I don't have any dates myself to go by due to a computer glitch and my host has to talk to Promotions to get my offers manually loaded. As of now I am clueless on my offers and amounts. Glitch was not really CETs fault, although this is now the second month and it hasn't been fixed yet.

    Chimp,

My mailer for the VIP Luxury Gift Giveaway and Mystery Cash offer both say March 7th.

In regard to the VIP Luxury Gift Giveaway. I think Harrah's Southern California Resort should raise the free play offer they give if you don't take the gift.

I think they should mustard up the free play offer to $40.00 instead of the usual $20.00 dollars. Hell! With inflation they've been offering the same free play
offer for the last 10 years. With $40.00 dollars you can play twice as long and possibly hit a jackpot!

Am I the only one that sees this? Where in the hell is Dan Druff?

    Aaron, if you're getting $250... I'm getting $60.

Well, I might not be going afterall. Several reasons:

    1. I have work to do and my show is on at 5:30p
    2. I only have $60 of free play
    3. I'm not expecting much of a "gift"
    4. I just don't feel like it

So... anyone who goes, please take a photo of the "gifts" so we can have a record of what great Tiffany gifts Rincon offered. And if you can get additional info so we can check the Tiffany catalog for the actual retail prices.

    Thanks
