Thread: Big cut in my March offers at Rincon

  1. #1
I just received two mailers from Harrah's Rincon with offers for March and these offers were deeply cut:

My U Choose offers for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are now for $90 each day (up from $80 previously) BUT in order to claim the $90 of reward credits or dining credits or free play I first have to put on 50 tier points. To get 50 tier points I'd have to have coin-in of $500 of video poker. In previous months, I'd just have to swipe my card to get the U Choose offer with no previous play required.

My offers for each Friday in March, fee play or reward credits, were reduced by about 1/3 from previous months.

Weekly free play and Friday offers have come in and all reduced.

The way it looks I have one day for Rincon in March when it's worthwhile to go: March 7 when I can combine $60 weekly free play with $145 bounceback plus I think there is a daily offer that will probably be worth $60 plus the "Tiffany" offer that will likely be $35 retail value.

My weekly free play was a cut of $30. It was $90 in February.

    Pretty slim.

Sometimes I guess its nice to live in the sticks. My Cherokee comps are now up to over 1K a visit, plus a suite, food, show (last time it was a group called Heart, this week its Willie Nelson) and spa. Not bad, but its interesting because Cherokee has no competition in driving distance.

carolinajacket I am pretty sure the reduction in my offers and free play comes primarily from my reduction in play. While I don't intend to pry, it seems to me that if you are getting offers of $1,000 plus suite, food and show you are a considerably bigger player than I am -- even at Cherokee. I rarely have a budget at Rincon of $1,000.

From what I've read I figure I'm close, one way or the other, to you guys. I got to Seven Stars last year. Don't know if I will make it this year, but if Cherokee keeps it up I surely might. The funny thing is that we had cut down our visits to Cherokee last year and were going to New Orleans a lot more. Then, all of a sudden, NOLA drops our rewards and Cherokee ups theirs. Weird. Oh yes, Cherokee has more Seven Star and Diamond players than any other casino in the country.

Interesting that Rincon made the same claim.

So... am I the only one with lower offers in March?

Vegas offers have dropped for March and April (no big surprise)

Weekly free play at Rincon went up $5
Looks like my scramble went up to next level
Looks like I have to earn 50 TC to get $10.00 in U Choose

Nash thanks for the post. Do you think it is worth the 50 TC to get $10.00 in U Choose?

Alan what is your opinion on this?

I wonder what Dan Druff thinks? Dan if you read this post please comment. Just don't make it to lengthy. Sometimes it's hard for me to stay awake while reading your post.

Personally I don't think it's really worth it. If it was available on 10x's or 15x's multiplier I might change my tune.

    I appreciate all comments.

As I wrote above, in my case it's 50 tier credits ($500 coin in) to get $90 of free play. I wouldn't do it.

I can't imagine playing $500 coin in at video poker to get $10 of free play.

However, if this is part of a regular trip where you would be playing anyway, then yes, go for it.

I'm sorry Alan but I wasn't clear. My U Choose is a lot higher than $10.00 dollars. I guess my point being it doesn't even make sense to play for 50 TC's to get the U Choose. After
you budget your time and gas to the casino it most likely will be a loser unless you get extreme luck.

I wonder if people will stop going to Harrah's Southern California Resort on Monday - Wednesday for the U Choose. It almost makes more sense to play on Thursdays when the
multiplier is 15x's. I play some video poker with more slot play. I can capitalize on the 15x's RC's.

Do you think this might back fire on Harrah's Southern California Resort? You probably know that the other Casinos in the area might have other offers equal or higher on Monday - Wednesday.
I might do a little investigation and see what is going on. We do have the two Big P's plus Pauma, and Valley View.

As far as the free play goes I wonder if people will stop going to Harrah's Southern California Resort since they cut back on the free play.

It appears that Harrah's Southern California Resort might then have more rooms available, less food offers used and lots of unused free play.

They might even have less 7 Stars players playing in their casino.

If I may quote our President "O". "We need change." Perhaps a change in Casinos as well. I personally think change is good.

I guess I just don't agree with some of the changes that CET is making. They might be cutting off the hands that feed them.

I was commenting on the other poster who mentioned $10 for 50 tier points. As I said -- I wouldn't play 50 tier points for $90.

Yes-- going to Rincon Monday thru Friday is now worthless for me. I don't play enough to make the Thursday multiplier worthwhile either. Are you sure you did the math?

Frankly I have only March 7 to combine various offers to make a day trip worthwhile.
