Thread: Forum has been very dead for a few days -- any new TR 2015 info?

It's February 24, and not a peep from CET regarding Total Rewards benefits for 2015.

    Has anyone heard anything?

I honestly don't think we will see anything till April 1st at the earliest. As we know, the rarely if ever provide info early.

I am curious if we will be able to use our Annual Dinner and redeem our annual gift on April 1st or if there might be a delay with that?

Alan with all of the reductions and cuts by CET do you think there will be a drop in 7 Stars players playing at the CET casinos? It occurred to me that more 7 Stars players might be exploring the other casinos in Las Vegas and other areas.

It always make sense to explore other options. My son who is Diamond has switched to Red Rock and no longer goes to Caesars because he feels he gets a better deal at RR.

Alan thanks for the reply. How do you feel about exploring other options?

I'm interested in trying Red Rock. I've played there but I am not a fan of the craps pit. The resort is beautiful. They lack shows/entertainment.

I am not fond of Red Rock. Restaurants mediocre, craps horrible. But more than anything, you are too far from anything else. I don't like being confined to one casino. I need a strip property where I can roam around the strip any time of day or night.

In past times when I was a player, I spread my action among several properties. But for craps, Caesars continues to be the best. I am not a comp chaser so all the Caesars BS doesn't really effect me.

The only thing I dislike about Caesars craps is their table limits. When they have $10 and $15 tables I am very happy. But overnight they usually have only one table open and it's always $25. When I was there for Super Bowl (didn't play because I was sick in my room -- subject of another post) the tables were $50 and $100.

Red Rock I know has $5 tables.

There are also some advantages for being away from the Strip and being in Summerlin: local malls, shopping, hiking Red Rock which Gwen and I did, horseback riding. And the pool area is gorgeous at Red Rock and without the "tourists" (if you know what I mean).

Maybe consider giving Mlife properties some play. They have comped me generously during the last 6 years and the overall condition of their Vegas resorts is better than CET. Or if you want to get better gambling (especially VP) you might want to give Downtown a try. You don't need a lot of play to get comped rooms and decent free play.

Really? I can't think of any of the MGM properties which tops a Caesars property. Not even Bellagio compares with Caesars.

I have moved some of my Play.

Last year I went to Brunch at Aliante Resort played vp for an hour and have received many calls from a host asking if I would like to come back. The property is beautiful but a little too far out of town for me.

I also had 5 trips to Cosmo last year. The comps are very good and the rooms blow away all of CET. They also have 9/6 DDB.

Last trip I even gave MGM a try. I have not played there in 15 years. I played for 1 hour earning 16k in points with just under $60 in freeplay and $60 in ExpreeComps. I am waiting to see if they send teaser offers to get me back.

Please explain this, since I am not familiar with their system. What does 16k in points mean in terms of coin in, etc?
    Thanks

I don't know either. I just played 1 hour of slots and that is what I now have. The reason I probably enjoyed it was I had 6 hand pays and left up over 10k.

I think 16K in points also meant I had 16k coin in.

Tier points are 1 per $1.

The Express play and comp is .01 for every $3 on slots and $10 on VP. You get .01 for each.

Then they bonus this depending on your card level. After 25k points you get a 10% bonus.

Like I said it is new to me.

16k coin in at CET would earn me 3200 RCs worth $32 in comps OR $25.60 in freeplay and at MGM I got almost $60 in freeplay AND $60 in Comps!

That's a lot of coin in for one hour.

Just checked the time stamps on photos I played from 6:05 to 7:35 on February 13, 2015. (I love Friday the 13th)

1st hour was at MGM's version of $5 Blazing 7's (Majestic Lion) $15 per pull

The rest was $45 per spin Wild Red Quick Hit.

But it really doesn't matter what or how much I played.

    The point is...

16k coin in at CET would earn me 3200 RCs worth $32 in comps OR $25.60 in freeplay and at MGM I got almost $60 in freeplay AND $60 in Comps!

You were also playing slots. I only play video poker. Coin in and comps at CET are lower for video poker play. Much lower.

CET has always been more generous with comping rooms than MGM Resorts, that's true. But still, with your kind of play you'll have no problem getting as many nights comped as you like. You'll also get free play and resort credits. With your play you'll build free play and express comps. Mlife also has the anual Holiday Gift Shopping so in many ways you will recieve similar benefits. CET might me more generous but I think that will change.

When it comes to the overall condition I do think MGM resorts properties are in better shape than CET properties. You can't compare all MGM properties to just Caesars. I'm looking at all properties. But if you do want to compare I think Aria is a close call.

It's not the comps, it's the hotels. I love my Strip view from the Augustus tower and the rooms are beautiful, quiet. Bellagio rooms, as I remember them, were smaller. I used to stay at NYNY and MGM regularly: never had a nice room at MGM and the place is just too big; though once (on a weekday) I was given some kind of suite at NYNY that only had four on the floor, with a jacuzzi large enough for 8, a separate dining room, a separate bar room with TVs, a bedroom and some side room that I couldn't figure out. But besides that one time in that suite, the rooms at NYNY were rather bland with no views of anything.

Also keep in mind that I was "escorted" away from the craps tables at MGM, and at NYNY they simply took the dice away from me and announced "youre through." And at Bellagio I had a similar problem -- all have been well documented on the web.

    Mlife
Play: $3 on Slots , $10 on Video Poker/ Specialty Games
    Get: 1 point = $0.01 in FREEPLAY™ AND $0.01 in Express Comps

    CET
Play: $5 on Slots or $10 on Video Poker
Get: 1 TR Credit = $0.01 in Comps OR $0.005 in Slot Credits

Look here for the complete chart

Sapphire is the base status at Mlife:
when reaching Pearl status you get a Tier Bonus Multiplier on Points AND Express Comps of 10%
When reaching Gold status you get a Tier Bonus Multiplier on Points AND Express Comps of 20%
When reaching Platinum status you get a Tier Bonus Multiplier on Points AND Express Comps of 30%
When reaching Noir status you get a Tier Bonus Multiplier on Points AND Express Comps of 40%

With the amounf of play your had last year Alan, you would be Noir at Mlife (probably, because it is on invitation).

That's why I think you're biased . You had some rough experiences with MGM and I can understand you having a soft spot for CET properties. But come on MGM Grand too big? I doubt the complete property is much bigger than Caesars Palace. You are still just talking about Caesars Palace. What do you think about the Flamingo, Bally's, Harrah's, Paris and Planet Ho. (The Linq and Cromwell are nice).

The MGM Casino is 40,000 square foot larger and MGM has about 1200 more rooms. But walking around the entire property I don't really get the feeling that MGM is so much larger than CP. Count in the pool areas, their show venues and shopping areas. But maybe that's just me.
