The last time I was at Rincon I saw a sign on the counter at the cashier in the high limits room that said they were relocating over by Starbucks.
That makes no sense to me since they already have a cashier by the Starbucks.
Does anyone else know anything about this? I wonder how the people who play
in the high limits room are going to feel about this.

I think high limit players will find this to be very inconvenient. Ironically in the overnight hours it's the high limit cashier that is open while the main cage is closed.

That's a good point Alan. I hadn't even thought about that. I'm an early person and many times I have gone to get my offer, such as uchoose, and have had to redeem it at the high limits cashier as the main cage is not open yet. I wonder if they will extend the main cage hours now.
It's kind of ironic.....I asked at the high limits cage why they were closing. I figured she would say they didn't have enough traffic. But she said it was because sometimes the line got too long. That doesn't make any sense. So now the line will be even longer at the main cage. And there are always issues there with golds, etc. being called before 7-stars, with the way it is currently set up.
I'm sure a lot of high limits players will be aggresively complaining when it closes.

The biggest problem is that I used the cashier in the high limits room to get cash with my ATM card without paying the fee. We can still get cash with our ATM cards without a fee at the main cage, but it will involve walking across the casino floor. I usually take out cash in $500 increments. In a way, Rincon will be forcing me to get out of my seat, stretch my legs, and be closer to the exit. In other words -- it might lead to me playing less.

A "smarter" casino design would be to have the main cage near the back of the casino, forcing players to walk through the casino to cash out and not to have the main cage so close to the exits.

I was told by the high limit cashier that it was closing because of player complaints in the high limit room.
The line was interfering and making players uncomfortable.

I told her I wanted to complain that I would have to go across the casino.

I think Rincon thinks it might save them some money.
If the line is getting too long or their are unscrupulous people using it, they should limit it to Diamond and Seven Stars.

Actually, the high limit room should be limited to high limit players -- period.

This is a problem I had at Caesars Palace -- non high limit players "hanging out" in the high limit room watching the high limit play. Then after a robbery where a player was distracted and someone cashed out nearly a thousand dollars from his machine I complained to top management to stop it.

Now, if I ever see "lookers" in the high limit room I immediately call for a slot attendant and then a manager. And now, they immediately remove the lookers from hanging out.

But this creates a problem in Nevada. Nevada has an "open gaming" law which means anyone can watch play. According to the law anything in a casino is open to public viewing. Which means if there are two whales betting million dollars a hand at baccarat in the Palace Court section of Caesars you have every right under the law to go to the table, stand there, and watch the play.

I almost quoted the "open gaming" law when I went to Wynn to take those photos of the machines that Rob Singer talked about and the symbols. But no one bothered me even with a "suit" standing at the door.

I have been back to Rincon since the cage was closed in the high limit room and I can tell you that without a doubt the high limit players don't like the change one bit. And neither do the other players in the casino.

I was at the cage this past Friday and I saw a line of "high limit players" in the 7 Stars line waiting for a cashier. And yes, one by one, the 7 Stars players were called first, leaving all of the other players waiting and waiting.

While I was at the cage a woman who was not a 7 Stars player actually walked up to the cage and said to a cashier "why are we waiting so long."

If the casino wants to give preference to its 7 Stars players -- do it out of the view of the "rank and file" players, and that would mean in a separate facility such as a cage in the high limit room.

I think Rincon's strategy which was probable to save money by eliminating the cage in high limits is going to backfire dramatically with longer lines and angry players at the main cage.

What used to be the cage area in high limits has now been covered with a wall and a row of slot machines has been placed against that wall. By the way, I didnt see anyone playing those slot machines.

At Caesars Palace there is a cage in its Palace Court Slots which is its high limit room and I would never imagine Caesars shutting that room down (with the rare exception of perhaps at 3 in the morning on a weekday when no one is playing).

I am sure the carpenters at Rincon can rip out that wall restoring the cage area. I am going to predict that within a year they will do that.

Yeah when I was there in March, I noticed the high limit cashier was closed.

I am surprised they were taking the 7 Stars first in the main cage area. Most of the time I find that the 7 Stars line gets ignored at CET properties, and sometimes it becomes an anti-priority line, meaning you don't get called until you do something to get their attention that you're there. Then, of course, you get resentful looks/comments from the people in the regular line, even if you've been waiting longer than them.

Anyway, I've noticed a general trend at Rincon. The hotel portion has improved and become more customer friendly, while the casino has degraded and become customer hostile. Makes no sense, but it almost looks to me like they want to just get rid of the variance the high limit players bring them, and focus on the business of soaking the lower limit players with bad games and poor comps.

I am curious about this. Where have you found 7 Stars not getting priority?

I admit I only frequent two properties, for the most part, Caesars and Rincon.

At Rincon I get to use the valet even when big events shut down the valet for others. As I wrote above, 7 Stars are always called first at the cage. 7 Stars are always called first at the Total Rewards Desk.

At Caesars there is a special check-in, the Augustus valet is still open, the Cage calls 7 Stars first (the problem there is that non-7 Stars get into the line and then are turned away at the cage), and even room service puts 7 Stars in priority for meal delivery.

At the cage at Rincon there have been many times that non-7stars have been called before me. Because the 7stars line is all the way to the left, so either the cashier doesn't look over that way or people from other lines walk up as soon as the previous person in front of them starts to leave. The only times that doesn't happen is with the cashiers that are in the two left spots. Sometimes I have had three or four people go before me.
I think that they should move the 7stars line to the center, like they did at the Total Rewards desk.

Chimp, I'm surprised. You go to the cage? I thought the cage comes to you!

That has happened to me several times at the main cage at Rincon that's why I liked the cashier in the high limits room. At Harrah's in Vegas they have their own separate cashier for 7 stars players where you
have to enter through doors. I like that much better. You walk in and they help you unlike the separate lines at Starbucks at Harrah's Las Vegas where you get customers actually ready to pick a fight with you
because they think you took cuts in the line.

Nash raises a real concern. At Rincon the non 7 Stars get angry when 7 Stars get preference. This is why I let ladies, older people, and anyone bigger than I am go ahead of me.

I've had people get angry at me at several properties for "cutting" via the Seven Stars line.

My response: "If you want to lose as much money as I have, you are welcome to get the same card as me, and you can also use this line."

    Usually shuts them up.

I don't feel bad for using the Seven Stars line, just as I don't resent people with high level cards at non-CET properties for being able to go ahead of me in line.

Exactly. This problem occurs at most CET properties at both the cashier and the Total Rewards desk, and sometimes even at check-in if they don't have a separate room.
