The Cuba material was very interesting. Some friends of mine used to travel to Cuba as members of baseball teams that were cleared for international relations. Evidently this was a fairly common way to tour the island in a legal way. They said the retro hotels and lounges were amazing. I had also met one of the aristocrat leaders who was forced off the island during the revolution. He wound up teaching at a university in the states.

I'm wondering if Cuba could become a popular place from which to run offshore race and sports books.

I would love to visit Cuba right now as a tourist. Would be really interesting to see.

Wasn't Havana famous for its casinos before the revolution? If Cuba wanted casinos again Havana would be the place. A short flight from Miami.

Edited to add: I did a quick Google search and there were about 15 casinos in Havana before for the revolution.
