Thread: Las Vegas Room Rates Record

  1. #1
I have surveyed the Comdex room rates in the past and have checked New Year's Eve rates for the last 30 years, but if you want to entertain yourself, go check the room rates for the weekend of Mayweather/Pacquiao, which also is Kentucky Derby weekend. I have never seen rates like this across the city. Pay special attention to the MGM rates.

You Seven Stars guys and gals should try to book rooms and re-sell them off the grid. Have any of you seen rates like these?

I haven't even tried to book a room for that weekend.

But I am curious about the idea about re-selling the room? Or is it more of a sub-lease? Or a sub-rental?

    Yeah. Make me some money.

In Bob Dancer's book, "Million Dollar Video Poker" he explained how he used comps to get bottles of liquor then sold them for cash to others. So this kind of thing happens.

Sure you can get in trouble with the Casino if you got caught re-selling a room, and you should be concerned that your "sub-tenant" charges a mint in room charges. But if the money is right, casino room arbitrage may exist.

In the past, I have booked a room for a friend or relative using my comps and had my friend/relative give their credit card for supplemental charges. This is not unusual.

Checking into your comped room and then taking X amount of cash while handing the keys over to someone you barely or do not know, is asking for trouble. I've done this hundreds of times for people whom I've trained, only they never had to or paid me one cent for the service. My credit card was never compromised, and there was never any damage.

CET has started blacking out certain popular dates like this for Seven Stars bookings.

Don't know about this one specifically.

Would you really want to be in that town that weekend? Can you imagine what the table game minimums will be? Can you imagine the crowds for restaurants? It will be worse than New Year's Eve because at least during NYE there are ticket-only events where at least you know you'll be seated for a meal. I honestly think that's one weekend when you DON'T want to be in Vegas.

About ten years ago, when I was still welcomed at MGM, I had tickets for a big fight. I was married at the time and my wife and I were walking across the bridge from NYNY when a man held up a sign wanting tickets. I said I have two for sale. They were good seats too but not the best and he gladly paid full price which was fine with us. That night during the fight at MGM my wife hit an $8,000 royal and I had a roll at craps that lasted about 50 minutes.
