Thread: Rincon question

  1. #1
Just wondering since I consider this site rincon authorities if anyone has ever had this problem and what they did about it.

Both someone I knew and now myself have played at rincon. Tried for diamond in a day so played a ton of hands. The display on card reader would show points and so would the account. However when it came time to look online, one card showed 0 and mine showed 677 out of like 5200.

Anyone else had this issue and how did you solve it?

Obviously there is something wrong. But did you check the online account the same day or 24-48 hours later? The reason I ask is that it takes usually up to 24 hours for your slot play at Rincon to show up on the Caesars/Total Rewards website. In the case of Reward Credits it can take up to a week if you received any of Rincon's bonus credits.

If there is still a problem then you need to call Rincon's TR desk.

There was a guy playing next to me during my March Rincon visit (FABismonte saw him), and he had a nightmare like this occur.

He ran like 5,200 tier credits. However, he was smart enough to do what I always do at the end -- reinsert his card at the end, and check if the 5200 really showed up.

Instead, it read, "You have earned 0 tier credits today". He showed me and asked if I ever saw this occur. I told him that it hadn't ever happened to me.

He went to TR and complained, and they promised to "investigate", including checking the camera.

I don't know what the resolution was, but I do know this happens.

ALWAYS check that the machine says, "Today you earned XX tier credits" when you pull and reinsert your card after your play is finished.

I am kinda paranoid about being screwed this way, so I remove and reinsert my card various times throughout the session, just to make sure it is counting up correctly.

Did he really have his card in the machine? I don't see any reason why the casino or TR or Caesars would lie.

Let me tell you a true story: a couple of years ago playing $5 8/5 Aces and Faces I never hit a W2G win but I played for hours and hours and did rather well playing. Remember with 8/5 Aces and Faces you get a W2G only for quad aces, a straight flush and a royal. So other 4 of a kinds were not W2Gs. Well I played probably about 6-7 hours straight and on the machine it registered about 8,000 tier points. But when I got home and checked online the next day it only showed 4,000 tier points. I went to TR and they investigated. It turned out that the system stops "reporting" tier points after 4,000. The points are registered but not "reported." They have this to prevent someone from leaving their card in a machine and player after player playing on the same machine.

I was told to always pull the card out before it reaches 4,000 tier points to reset the system. And that's what I do now. And back then they were able to verify my play and added the correct number of points to my account.

So I am curious now about the player with more than 5,000 points that you mentioned in the original post -- did they have the same problem?

Of course if you get a W2G your card is removed and then you put it back in, which resets the system.

Ok so an update on this. I asked the person what he did when played and he said he played early like 7 am and played for about 4 hours straight. He did not pull the card.

When I played, I started maybe 1030 pm
Pulled the card before midnight and then played until about 3 am. Do you think the change in days means the rest of the tier credits will show after midnight? Also any advice for the other person. He's coming down there to try and sort it out.

    1) Is it possible that he started before 6am, and the system got confused? The "Total Rewards day" begins at 6am, so if you start at 5:45, anything you earn prior to 6am goes to the previous day. That still doesn't explain why he is missing the points after 6am (and it sounds like that's most of them), but perhaps that was the source of the glitch.

    2) I doubt the midnight thing means anything, because the Total Rewards day begins at 6am. When you pulled the card and put it back in, did you see it say that you earned any, or did you not check this?

BTW, the guy I saw lose all of his points had been playing for MANY hours, and also had the machine deactivated for like 2 hours twice (so it was held for him). I don't think his card was ever removed. I did wonder at the time if the deactivation led to this, but I think it's more likely that it was either the sheer number of hours he played without pulling his card, or that he earned all 5000+ points without pulling it.

Sounds like Rincon has some real bugs with this that they need to fix.

Based on the description anything or many things may have gone wrong. ALWAYS pull your card one minute before the day ends and reinsert one minute after the new day starts especially if you want the daily bonuses.

Looks like the points accrued after midnight thursday ended up being posted to the online account after midnight this morning. So they were all there. I passed on your info and advice to the other person and we'll see how that turns out. Any names of people who "get things done" would be appreciated.

    Dan,
I have talked with several total rewards clerks and supervisors about the casino day issue. If you are playing at 11PM Thursday night on a point multiplier day and you play until 6:01 Friday morning (their clock their casino time not the time on your watch or phone) then pull you card out at 6:01 AM Friday morning you points are counted as Friday points because they are not posted until the end of your session (pulling out your card)
