They really considered everything but corporate salaries. MGM should have flyers printed with these recommended CET cuts and distribute them via the porn slappers.

Gosh, how did the NY Post miss the reduction in soap, shower gel, Q-tips, bathrobes and slippers?

Maybe they should have cut just a little off the top of Loveman's salary.

regnis thanks for posting the Loveman article. This was a key line in the story: "He told a reporter for Bloomberg.com that prior to becoming an executive with Caesars, he had been in a casino once, playing a few hands of blackjack in Monte Carlo (the European town not the MGM property), before losing interest." Loveman is known for actually disliking gamblers. That's why gamblers were treated so well over the years. (Ahem.)

Regnis, thanks for the great article. I am disseminating it liberally.

Converting to Russian snow crabs, a move that would save the casino $216,000 a year.
Consolidating the contracts of its Las Vegas dancers, which would save $350,000 a year.
Filtering the oil in its kitchen fryers, instead of replacing it, which would save $120,000 annually.
Idiotic ideas. Even if all three of these were done, a total of $686,000 would be saved, which is peanuts for a huge company like CET.

    Penny wise, pound foolish.

Well, as they say... a penny here and a penny there and soon enough you have a dollar.

Or, as U.S. Senator Everett Dirksen said: "a billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you're talking about real money."
