Have patience....RS__ is still learning. That's why he's over here. Plus he comes over to look at the jackpot pics. They're not nickels or from winpoker or videopoker.com like he gets to be in awe of on wizard's forum. Theory is a wonderful thing.

One of the longtime posters wrote that he gets his "shits and giggles", from the stuff they say and claim to do, over there at the Wizard's. RaleighCraps, or someone.

Ya, learning is out over there.

BTW, don't most actuaries make at least $500 a day. I went to school with one who was clearing that a day... while we were both still in school.

Why'd the Wizard wind up doing a job he admitted he didn't like doing for so many years? The piece-meal slot stats for casinos. And then hosting such a forum, and trying to write meaningless reviews for online casinos? For relative "peanuts" for a coupon company.

In my opiniion, half a mil a year as a practising actuary to considerably less was another desperate trade off. No one else accomplished such. I guess it takes someone with a genius's faith in himself.

People forget that he may be a gambling addict. He lives in LV, he lives, breaths, eats & sleeps all kinds of casino stuff, so it wouldn't be surprising if that's what pulled him away from a respectable job. He does have a ton of talent though.

That's sad. He posted a picture of himself as a kid, with his brother if I recall. The kid had an old time dealers visor hat on.

That's the part I just can't fathom. Unless, you mean a talent for bastardizing a legitimate degree for the casinos, like a few lawyers are doing for the mob.

    @OneHitWonder

Honestly, it’s very difficult to comprehend what you are trying to say.

Regarding the ‘Alan/Wizard Lunch bet’—the number 2 was agreed upon in advance. Two dice would be rolled until one or more deuce occurred. At that point, the bet would be on if there are a pair of deuces or not. No one is “making it up as he/she goes” and no one is “claiming any number from each roll was what he was waiting for”.

Again, any answer to the original question required an assumption. So are you claiming that 1/6ers are losers?

You still don't get this either. The condition must read "a roll which is an element of those in which at least one is a 2"; not "a roll which is at least one 2 (or more)".

    Wake up!
Again, I cannot identify your point(s) here. It’s almost like you occasionally just type random words.

    My thoughts exactly.

^Ditto. Or in other words, occasionally breaking winds through his keyboard instead of say something that actually is related to the topic

There is no need to delve into the "Interpretation of the dice problem".

    The answer to this question:

"What is the probability of a fair throw of two standard dice showing 2-2 given that at least one of the dice shows 2?"

is 1/6 as well according to all 1/6 supporters, is it not?

So, there you go. No interpretation ambiguity is in your way and still you come with the wrong answer.
