Thread: Has Total Rewards changed its rules about points on free play?

  1. #1
Some of the Total Rewards casinos give tier points and reward credits for free play. The Seven Stars Insider website lists casinos where you can and can't earn points on free play. See: http://www.sevenstarsinsider.com/ear...with-free-play

At Rincon, some players have reported that points show up for some kinds of free play but not for others.

But checking the official Total Rewards rules an regulations it says this:

    14. No Credits will be earned on any free slot play coupons, free table play
vouchers, promotional chips or free play downloaded to slot machines.

Last time I was at Caesars using free play, about six weeks ago, I had $200 of free play and yes, I received a few points for that play on video poker.

    What's up?

Probably a bug in the tracking software. At least it is in your favor.

Some do it one way (earn points on free play) and others do it the other way (no points earned while using free play).

Over here, in the east, the way it works is that while you are playing on the free play you earn not rewards, RCs or tier, but once you have actually hit a certain number of winners it starts to pay off. For instance, I just got back from Cherokee where I had about 1000 free play credits. I played them until I had about $700 is real money. At that time I started collecting credits. I then got lucky and hit two handpays and walked away with close to 30,000 tier credits and a good bit of money in my pocket. As has been discussed earlier, for some reason, Cherokee is very generous with its free play and I have benefitted nicely from their offers. Will be heading down to NOLA this weekend. We shall see how loose they are down there.

Hi. Do you mean a problem at Caesars Palace?

Again, Seven Stars Insider has a list of properties that give points on free play. My question is will this policy now change at the casinos listed?

Once you run your free play through the machine, then it becomes "real money" and starts earning Tier Points and RCs. For example, if you had $1,000 of free play and were playing a $5 slot machine, after 200 plays ($5 X 200 = $1,000) you would start earning TCs and RCs.

You did well from those handpays. If the maximum bonus tier points for one day is 10,000, you played for 20,000 tier points which was $100,000 of coin-in at slots.

Caesars implementation of "no RC" for Free Play play-through has been glitchy. There are at least a couple of casinos where tier credits on the reader don't begin advancing until you place wagers in excess of the FP amount, but when you pull your card and get a new read of your total RC/TC, the suppressed earning is added in on top of what the display showed were earned on the session.
