Thread: Fantasy Football and the NFL

  1. #1
Huntington Press (the Las Vegas Advisor publisher) is doing a book on the origins of fantasy football, so I sent them a question they used in their Question of the Day at www.lasvegasadvisor.com/qod.cfm.

Perhaps regnis and Alan can comment on the fine lines the NFL is drawing by banning current NFL players from fantasy conventions in Las Vegas, how former players and current announcers (who must have NFL approval to announce) are allowed at fantasy conventions in Las Vegas, and why current players would be allowed to attend fantasy conventions in locations other than Las Vegas. I don't understand the delineations necessary to allow one thing and not the others.

Interesting. I had no idea the fantasy league business was such big business.

I have little knowledge of the NFL rules regarding players. I just know the NFL prohibits use of the "Super Bowl" name just like "Oscars" is also restricted.
