Agree. I used to love to just play and while I still love the game, several hours long sessions aren't really my cup of tea anymore. Of course no one EVER walks away from a heater.

I cant remember if I ever asked you, what is your preferred position at the table to shoot from?

Gosh I wish I had some craps experiences like you guys. I've been playing craps since around 2000 and only four times (sessions) did I leave the table with a profit of $5,000 or more. I've been on "hands" (rolls) that lasted more than an hour only once. I've been on hands that lasted 45 minutes or more maybe 4 times. When all six numbers on the Firebet hit at Rio the roll lasted a half hour. The times at Caesars I made five numbers on the Firebet it took about 20 minutes.

I've heard many stories about 90 minute rolls but I've never been on one nor have I seen one.

I know of a player at Caesars who won a million dollars but it came from big betting ($50,000 bets) over many hands and not from one monster.

After about 15 years of playing I can't even think about what it would be like to have the "monsters" you describe.

Although my biggest craps run (from 20 years ago) was only $1,800 at the time, it was still 45x my original $40 buy-in.

I was alone at the table in an early morning session because I wanted to try the dice without social pressures. I'd "7" out here and there to start everything over again, but the stickman was forced to give the dice back to me every time.

I held the dice for 90 minutes because there was no other choice except to leave, LOL!

EDIT: Maybe for dice influencers, it would be best simply to find an empty craps table and just roll all the passes on your own for maximum concentration???

Alan-I've been playing craps since around 1990. I am nowhere near Regnis' league. My best roll was 1 hr. 20 min. and I would say that also was probably the longest hand I have been in on. I have had many 4 figure profit sessions with $8500 being my best. That 5 figure profit goal will happen one of these days. Next week we will be in Vegas for 3 days, maybe those medium sized tables at Paris that I'm partial to will have some magic.

Count-I always try to influence the dice and enjoy early morning sessions when I'm either alone or with 1-2 other players. Having said that, there is nothing like playing on a crowded hot table with cool people. Not so much when there are obnoxious douches around.

I am for the most part ambidextrous, but I have better control right handed. I stand to the right of stick--first position, or first position to left of stick for left handed throw. The roll where I turned 35 into 70K was left handed. All my other good rolls were right handed. Since you can't always get those spots I do have to alter the throw from other positions. Back in the day at Caesars, they would hold my spot or even move someone else from my spot. Not anymore.

My friend and I used to try to get empty tables. he doesn't roll so it would just be me. But he would also position himself in the corner to which I was shooting so that there would not be odds bets in the way and I would always have a clear shot. Depending upon the length of the table I wanted to just barely clear the odds in most cases. So I would direct him where to put his odds to leave me the landing area that I wanted.

many a night I still pass all wild random shooters and only bet on myself.

    Interesting you said this.

When I am at a table with someone who is trying DI and I am at stick right or stick left, I will ask them if they want to shoot from my position. This kind of swapping goes on all the time.
