Frankly, he couldn't get away with it on any other forum and it really is not productive. All of these "revelations" about Dancer will not help my video poker game, nor will they make my trips to Vegas more enjoyable, nor will they help me get more for my money when I am in Vegas. In other words -- it's an opportunity for personal bashing.

But I have Rob all figured out. And somewhere I know he will make a worthwhile contribution at some point.

Two things I've notice here: one is that one forum member wants to be the undisputed know it all about video poker, and another forum member wants to be the undisputed know it all about sports betting.
I haven't self-promoted at all on this forum, or any forum for that matter. If anything, I've been low key. Please pull up the posts where I've solicited clients or self-promoted, and I'll apologize profusely to all concerned. In any event, I won't post another word about sports betting here. It's not like it's somehow worth anything to me.

I don't think you have promoted anything here about sports betting redietz.

Alan, for the 3rd time: Dancer says most of these moronic things about his personal life himself in his articles, and he invites being criticized by people who don't treat wives as abusive as he does and who don't go around cheating in every imagineable way. Where I've expanded on them has been from discussions with Shirley's family. That's what real journalism is---unafraid to post the truth when it makes perfect sense.

Real journalism is based on facts. But I question if facts about personal lives is journalism. I don't think highly of the celebrity rag publications or TV shows though they could be called journalism because they are factual about who is sleeping with who. Do you think TMZ should care about Dancer's personal life? Even if he writes about it why should we care?

Rob does anyone really care about Dancer's personal life besides you?

That's why I say Dancer needs an editor. He's generally the one giving readers ugly insights into his personal life. Rob usually just adds some views from people who have spent a lot of time with Dancer.

Is any of this relevant to Dancer's expertise? Well, yes, it could be. Rob sometimes argues (not that I necessarily agree with him) that discipline in one arena of behavior probably correlates with discipline in other arenas of behavior. That has some relevance to the Dancer storyline. It's possible (not that I agree) that Dancer's vp success is mostly smoke and mirrors, with the majority of his income derived from casino consulting and with most of his bankroll provided by others, including his father, ex-wife, and current wife. Remember, it was Dancer's ex-wife who hit the mega-jackpot that was the fulcrum for Million Dollar Video Poker.

If somebody yucks it up while getting free champagne on a flight, pretending to be married 50 years, imagine how he yucks it up getting people to attend classes that do them no good or buying software that addicts them to a game they will not beat. Rob just connects the implicit behavioral dots with Dancer.

Most players I talk to have no clue who Dancer even is.

Redietz said it well. If Dancer didn't care to have the sordid details of his chaotic life discussed, he wouldn't release them. I like solving problems, and Dancer is a problem in the vp world. Connecting the dots, with the help of a small amount of FACTUAL investigating (such as speaking with family members) is fun with this guy. It tells a lot more about what he's capable of besides lying about marriage, military service, stealing breakfast from motels, his cruel and abusive treatment of his first wife, etc. And since he has never been willing to prove or offer any type of facts about his claims of winning when we simultaneously know he works other jobs, he's inherited several million dollars, and he took credit for the $400,000 win when it really wasn't his to claim, those dots begin to connect rather nicely.

Responsible, good journalism = taking ALL of the facts into account. Alan, what you're saying is the same as Hillary Clinton claiming no moderator in a debate should ever ask her about what she would say to women voters who believe she's weak and incapable for saying very little and doing nothing when she discovered her husband had sex in the oval office with a 22 yr. old before going on national TV to lie about it.

    A. I don't think Dancer's personal life affects his knowledge of video poker.

    B. I don't care who hit the $400,000 ROYAL because I want info about playing and not his win/loss history.

    C. You can't blame him for anyone's addiction and at the lecture I attended it was very clear no promises about winning were made. The lecture was about deuces wild strategy.

    D. I think he does need an editor.

    E. If we are talking journalistic facts when will we see the facts in the storage unit?

Ding ding ding! This is all that matters. People win Mega-Millions, Powerball, Megabucks, etc. It's still stupid to play any of these.

Over the years in the TV news business, I covered many of the news conferences with California lottery winners. I vividly recall the news conference with the lottery winner who said he had a system for winning. But he never won another lottery.

And then there was my neighbor -- he won TWO of the jackpots back when they were about 4-million each. He had no system -- he was just lucky. And with his luck he retired and drove around the neighborhood and reported to the homeowners association if anyone's house needed paint or the lawn wasn't properly groomed.

    A. I agree. His personal life has nothing to do with his knowledge of vp. I don't get the correlation.

    B. The $400k royal is important because he constantly lies in his books and articles about who hit it. What "playing" information are you looking for? Shirley was playing 9/6 JOB at the time, and she held 3-to-the-royal.

    C. Yes, you certainly CAN blame him for someone else's addiction, because he only teaches those classes for the pay and cares nothing about anyone else's well-being. His job is to give players confidence they can "win like him" and he leads them to the right machines to do that when he knows they will fail unless they get extraordinairily lucky.

    D. Editor Schmeditor. He already knows how to do everything.

    E. Since I believe you now finally understand where my storage facility is in relation to where your daughter used to work, what journalistic facts are you looking for?
