Can you give more info on "college kids" winning? Are entries earned with play and does this mean the college kids are playing a lot?

I visited Morongo last month and I spoke to the regulars at the Ultimate Texas Hold'em / Three Card Poker who frequent the casino almost every week (I no longer do). The announcing/name calling happens near by them so they see who won each Sunday. They told me "another college kid" won and if the winner is a Red or Titanium status member, they will disclose it and will be able to boast that "anyone can win and it could be you next week" to give people a sense of hope. The person was in Red which is under 5000 points, so in Total Rewards terms, it is less than 1000 TC.

I was there this past Sunday during Labor Day weekend and I was amazed to see how crowded the place was. Although the members here are "too good for this place", I am hearing Morongo is thriving from an employee and a few dealers there. The hotel rooms were not available for sale to the public during the weekend, it was only offered exclusively to people with high volume of play and all the rooms were taken up with a long waiting list. I see many people play 10-line $1 games at $10/$20/$30/$40/$50 a spin. If people have a few hundred thousand dollars to burn, no way I can compete with that. It is still a great place dedicated for low budget/bankroll players, but now they have whales. Compared to what it was 5 years ago, management did a good job business wise.
