Thread: New Year's Eve VACANCIES??

  1. #1
Is Caesars having trouble filling rooms for New Year's Eve?

When I was at Caesars about a week ago there were signs everywhere promoting NYE and guests should "talk to your host now!"

It seems that every day I am getting more emails for various Caesars properties in Vegas with a NYE offer -- just got one more email today and they are including free play which I NEVER saw before as part of a NYE offer except for Rio which has always had a free play offer since there is no show or event there.

    So what gives?

If there are vacancies, it's because the price is too high.

NYE is in high demand, so they could easily fill rooms if they dropped the price down.

I have noticed that 12/30 and 12/31 are still very expensive.

They would probably prefer to get "action" guests in those rooms via hosts than they would non-gambling partiers via lowering the price.

I've never seen late NYE marketing like this. And it's not just Caesars. I know a player who just called Bellagio and was added to their party and he is not a high roller there.

I haven't spoken with my host in years and only go to Caesars (or Vegas) if I am in a horse racing contest there, and then only for 2 days on the back side. Besides all the e-mails, etc., my host called me today re New Years.

I just received an email offer from Caesars which further points to a slow New Year's: three nights starting New Year's Day with Saturday night tickets to Celine.

    Hi Alan:

Aren't you already signed up for that Celine event? If so, why are you getting emails inviting you?

FAB yes. Linda and I are arriving on the 30th and seeing Celine on NYE plus dinner.

I am getting the mass mailings for the various events at all the properties in Vegas plus this newest mailer for arrivals on January 1st with the show that night.

I wouldn't expect them to drop me from their regular mailings.

What still strikes me as unusual is that they are allowing people to check in on New Years Day and the Celine show for New Year's night is not already sold out??? I think it's also unusual that they are still marketing NYE weekend??

Bringing back this old thread. I am being inundated with calls and e-mails from my host and e-mails from "Caesars" with New Years offers including shows, dinners, rooms, etc. I haven't received this stuff in years. What's up with this?

I have also been receiving calls and e-mails from my host re Super Bowl parties, etc.

    Very strange.

Alan--you aren't out there playing on my card are you??

No regnis I am not playing on your card and my guess is that cash-strapped Caesars is doing everything possible to boost revenue. I have just received my FOURTH email advertising Celine concerts for Jan 1, 2, 3 which tells me those dates and shows are not sold out. These are not free show tickets, but ads to buy seats and no discount of offer on the hotel room either.

If you read the thread with Dan looking for rooms for New Year's Weekend -- I tried to get free additional rooms and could not, and the casino rate that I was quoted for additional rooms were in my opinion sky high.

I think that while they have vacant rooms (which is unusual) they are not going to discount them to fill them. They need the money.

It appears their thinking is this: no revenue is better than discounted revenue.

I am getting inundated with offers also. I must have received that Celine offer email at least 3 times already. And I don't even visit Vegas all that frequently - most of my TR points are from other locations.

I'm going to call and inquire what it would cost me to get the 30th and 31st as a "second room" at someplace like Bally's, even if I am already staying comped at Caesars.

Probably will be a ripoff, but worth checking.
