Thread: My story

Well here it goes.....I am 32 years old and I have been gambling for the last 12 years or so....I started on video poker and got hooked on it. I believe video poker is like crack cocaine to a compulsive gambler. I have lost a lot of money over the years and never had much to show for it. But things have turned for the better this year. I would say 2015 has been very kind to me. I was a low diamond last year but this year I made 7 stars losing less than $8000, and this will surprise you all, I made most of my tier points on three card poker, imagine that. I made over 200000 points in about 3 months playing mostly three card poker. I believe they rate you very high when u play carnival games.i made 5000 points multiple nights and the 10000 bonus you get with that pushed me into the 7 star category. I never imagined that I would ever make 7 stars. I probably will never make it again. Oh this year I hit 6 royals, more than all the royals I have hit in the last 12 years, crazy. We got a month and a half left before this year ends, I hope I can get a few more royals to add my count. Well I just lost 350 today and I am in my room at caesars and I just thought I ll share my story. I took my 7 star trip to Vegas in August and I still have my Diamond aspiration 2 trip left.I will be taking that trip sometime in January, so I can get away from old man winter. Any suggestions where I should go.

Thanks for sharing an open and honest story, it resembles the same thing I went through except that I am not lucky this year and I do not play at CET Total Rewards properties.

I lost a ton of money at CET, and the only offers I got were free rooms at Laughlin or Arizona (ak-chin).

There are cost efficient ways for you to get into Diamond and even 7Star, just have to pull off some Diamond in a Day trips to Harrah's Cherokee, New Orleans, or Lake Tahoe or Reno.

I am not sure how much you wager at 3 Card Poker to rack up that kind of points, it does surprise me, but I know that 3 for 1 flush payouts are brutal. I will not play that game unless the house offers 4 for 1 for flush payout.

Plus you would really have to value what CET gives you, otherwise if you do not take advantage, there are more favorable video poker places to play.

    Thanks for posting lucky.

I think the first time I set foot in a casino was in 1988 and I was 36 years old. I think my gambling budget for the trip was $60. My date had $10 and made two $5 bets on red at roulette and lost both of them. I played a $1 slot with 2-coins bet. I lost.

I never had a profitable year with casino gaming-- until this year when i got lucky.

If you happen to be in Vegas for New Year's I'll be there and we should meet. My son who is just a couple of years older than you will also be there and we can swap stories. And we have stories.

I've never played 3 Card Poker and I am very happy to hear that you were rated high for tier points playing it. I am surprised to hear it. I thought table game tier points were low and even horrible.

i will be spending new year with my old battle axe here in NYC, if I tell her Vegas, she is going to murder me. Yes, if I am ever on your side of the country, I would love to hang out with you guys. My understanding is that table games with huge house advantage always gives players better ratings, and three card poker is up there with roulette in terms of huge house advantage. I was betting anywhere from $80 to $300 a hand straight for 10 hours or more. That game giveth, that game taketh
