Thread: Celine Dion's return December 30th

  1. #1
I am really looking foward to Celine's return to Caesars Palace starting on December 30th and I am also hoping that her husband's health allows it. I never met Celine, but I saw her show a dozen times and look forward to seeing it again New Year's Eve.

Celine's husband Rene I do know. I played craps with him several times both at Caesars and Bellagio. He is quiet, plays a "quiet game," and always showed respect at the table for the dealers and other players. Never a word out of him.

Sometimes he would be at the table with a friend or two -- at Bellagio he was at the table once with two friends. At Caesars he played by himself at a "regular table" meaning it was not a reserved table. You'd think he was a regular guy except he was playing hundreds or thousands per bet while the rest of us at the $25 table were making minimal bets or maybe pressed once or twice.

I found this article online which appears to be the latest news about his health and her status about returning:

In addition to having concerts on the 30th and New Year's Eve the 31st there are also concerts during the first week of January.

Rene used to be a regular in the Bellagio poker tournaments.

It wasn't that long ago her husband was arrested across the street with a hooker in his room while Celine was performing her show. That said, no one deserves to suffer from cancer any more. If it weren't for all the R&D money the pharma companies need to recover for all those "management" & "treatment" drugs, the cure would be out there and available right now. The medical industry is the most corrupt and deceiving industry the world has ever seen.

Yes he did play poker too, and I think he played some WSOP events which would be a natural thing for him to do living in Vegas and being a "local." I recall watching some ESPN coverage of the WSOP and they would show him playing.

Rob, I am not sure only money is keeping cures for cancers from being developed or that there is some conspiracy preventing a cure from being made public. If money were the only issue, there would be more money in "cures" than in research and treatments.

Imagine if you were the company that developed the "cure." Do you think your company would lose money?
Imagine if you were the researcher who developed the "cure." Do you think any amount of money would keep you from making it public?

I immediately went online to find more info about this. I couldn't. More info?

Drug companies don't want cures to diseases. They'd be out of business in a heartbeat.

Who would manufacture and sell the cures?

Curing a disease does not mean eliminating it.

The Polio vaccine only stopped transmission. Polio wasn't eliminated. It's still out there. The vaccines still must be available. And yes, polio does spring up from time to time.

This BS about stopping and preventing cures is just another conspiracy theory and I am more concerned with the second gunman, where Jimmy Hoffa is, and how the Pyramids were built.

I would consider the idea that drug companies were hiding cures for cancer as credible as claims that casinos knowingly use loaded dice at their craps tables.

I didn't say they're hiding cures. They don't want them figured out or invented.

As for your three burning questions. Ask the aliens at Groom Lake ;-)

Saying they don't want them invented is as stupid as saying they are hiding cures. Is this the mentality of so-called advantage players?

What's the next thing you are going to tell me? That every casino employee who knows about unbalanced dice being used will keep it a secret?

Angélil was accused by Yun Kyeong Kwon Sung of sexual assault stemming from an incident in 2000 that took place in a Las Vegas hotel. These charges were later investigated by Las Vegas police. Although Angélil eventually paid $2 million to settle, Angélil never admitted to doing anything wrong, always maintaining the settlement was to avoid negative publicity that might upset his wife Celine Dion.

Yun and her husband, Ae Ho Kwon, were later arrested in 2003 and charged with trying to extort money from Angélil over a false rape claim. The couple were convicted in 2005.[13]

Has nothing to do with casinos. Would you want something figured out or invented to put you out of business and cost you billions of dollars? I'm thinking you wouldn't. Ask yourself why there are so many drug commercials. Answer: they want you hooked on the stuff they're peddling!

That is a lot different than this:

This is really an absurd discussion. If you have any evidence that there is any kind of cure being withheld because of a profit motive please let us know.

All of this hypothetical should be limited to talk over cheap drinks in a cheap bar.

Alan, ask Celine when you see her in a few days. That gal was a hooker. Celine went thru hoops to hush as much of the incident as possible and as fast as possible because she didn't want such an incident tarnishing her career. That's why she stuck with him. Kind of like trying to figure out why Hillary stuck with Bill the creep.

If you read online you'll see how much behind in R&D recoup money the drug companies are on their cancer drugs. If they introduced the cure those hugely repetitious sales would come to a screeching halt. Jobs would be lost and companies would close all to a cure not requiring lifelong pain or symptoms management. And don't think powerful politicians wouldn't be at risk either.

    Oh dear Rob, Rob, Rob.

Do you and your buddy jbjb have proof of this cure?

If you do, send it to me (along with your tax returns) and allow me the chance to win a Pulitzer exposing that "profits" are keeping the drug industry from allowing the cure to be used.

And was this "hooker" in your employ or someone you gave video poker lessons to?
