Thread: room service -- asked to pay cssh

This was weird and troubling. Room service delivered breakfast and the server asked us to pay cash.

Never in all my years at Caesars have I been asked to pay cash for room service. What's even more puzzling is that I have a $500 folio credit and most of the balance remains unused.

I said to the server it's a room charge.

She gave us the bill to sign and I looked at the check and it showed a remaining balance of zero -- just what I expected because my folio credit covered it.

I called room service after to confirm it was a room charge. So why did the server ask me to pay the check of $70?

I'd hate to think it was an attempt to rip me off.

And that was just the $70 cost!

Good thing they didn't try to pull that on Dan. All hell would break loose!

I'd bet they'd charge $20 for a bowl of Froot Loops.

Probably the debt collector Druff told to "suck my d----" over the phone.

It was most likely an attempt to rip off the casino. They take your cash, give you the food, then report that the food was not ordered by you or that they had the wrong room #. That way the delivery person keeps the cash and the casino writes it off as a mistake.

Not a bad theory. You should have called down to the room service manager and inquired about this.

Linda didn't want me to "report it" thinking it could be an innocent mistake. I just wanted to make sure it was charged to the room and came off my comp.

If it was an attempt to rip me off it failed.

My feeling is she was either stupid and didn't see on the check that the balance was zero or was holiday help and didn't understand the system.
