Thread: Are you a compulsive shopper?

  1. #1
If you are a compulsive shopper you know that putting your credit cards at the bottom of a drawer doesn't work. You also know that putting your credit cards between the pages of a book on a top shelf also doesn't work. It only takes a few seconds to get those cards when you have the urge to shop.

    So what do you do?

You could keep the credit cards in a bank safe deposit box. That's okay but in a true emergency the cards might be difficult or impossible to get-- for example you have to get a prescription from the drug store at 2-AM.

So consider this when you want to freeze your spending: go ahead and freeze your credit cards. Get a freezable container like an ice cube tray or bowl and put your cards in it, fill with water and freeze.

In an emergency you can still get at your cards. But when it's not an emergency while you wait for the ice to melt you might find the strength to put the cards back in the freezer.
