Thread: Casinos that do something better?

  1. #1
We talk a lot about things that casinos and resorts do wrong. How about a casino or resort that has changed something to make it better?

I am really pleased that Caesars replaced the Fire Bet at craps with the Small, Tall, All bet.

While I have a profit on the Fire Bet thanks to hitting all six numbers a couple times, and hitting five more than a couple times, the Fire Bet was a costly bet.

The Small, Tall, All bet at craps is something that I've had much better results with. I was actually thinking about playing craps exclusively at Bellagio because it had the STA bet -- but when I was at Caesars for New Year's I saw that they had dropped the Fire and now had the STA.

I am not going to mention any complaints here. This thread is just about what's being done better.

I think it is better that CET changed that $500 dinner that Seven Stars get so that you could use it in $100 increments.

I personally find that much more useful a benefit than trying to use it all in one pop. We are really not drinkers, and rather simple eaters, so spending $500 for one meal was a challenge.

I totally agree with you on this one. I used $300 for our dinner at Old Homestead Steakhouse on New Year's Eve and we have $200 remaining for use anytime before the end of March of this year. We're not drinkers. And honestly, we didn't even spend the entire $300 -- but close to it.

In year's past when I had to spend all $500 at one sitting I would invite another couple to join us.

    I'm glad:

    1) Boyd divided their senior Wednesdays into 7 AM to 7 PM and 7PM on. You get to swipe twice for bonus points, pick up free breakfast or lunch, then get a $10 food credit on the second swipe.

    2) Glad MGM decided David Copperfield should have a permanent home base and theater. I'm not a huge Copperfield fan, but having the theater as home base makes for a much better show.

    3) Glad Caesars Palace made Absinthe permanent.

    4) Glad the Westgate pumped loads of money into the SuperBook and made it brilliant and beautiful. It looks great.
