Thread: Wynn: Super Bowl Weekend

  1. #1
Just got off the phone with my host at Wynn, he confirmed three Parlor Suites arriving 2/5-2/8
He is buying us dinner Saturday Night at SW Steakhouse and giving my kids and their significant others a table at XS Friday and Saturday nights. We are also invited to their VIP Super Bowl Party.

I'm sure they are giving me the royal treatment since it's our first visit, but I do appreciate what they have done.

Looking forward to experience someone who appreciates my play for a change

This is your first trip there? Any previous play there? Or was this just because they looked up your players account at other casinos?

If they did look up your players account, how did they do that? I thought that info would be tightly guarded?

It would be like one airline getting access to the frequent flyer account at another airline.

And are you under any obligation to play at a certain level? Or have a credit line for a certain amount?

When I called over to Wynn I gave the host my TR number as well as my wife's. Yes this is my first time ever entering the Wynn.
Under no obligation to play, I did open a line of credit. Just for "good faith"

I was told by a host at several casinos if I opened a line of credit they could be much more generous with my initial visit. But I didn't. I only have one line of credit in Vegas and that's with Caesars. I think one line of credit is enough.

Exactly how is it that Wynn "appreciates your play" if you've never been in the place? You gave them your TR numbers. So Wynn's gonna contact CET and ask them your stats so you can bring the clan to Wynn. Right. And I don't see why a hi-end property would invite an entire family in for all that when they have no info that anyone other than you & the wife play. Under no obligation to play? The line of credit is for suckers as we all know, and that alone won't get you anything near what you're claiming at the absolute toughest casino to get comps from.

None of this "offer" makes any sense. Either this guy loses a ton and CET is somehow willing to let him gamble elsewhere, or, ummm....it's all BS.

Rob don't be too critical. If he opened a big line of credit they could give him the world. And he might have a big line of credit established -- in which case lots of comps could be thrown his way.

If I remember YOU don't have lines of credit at casinos so I don't think you understand what doors those lines of credit can open.

Rob I reread your post and you called it the toughest casino to get comps from. Well I have a close relative who played a couple hundred at $1 video poker prior to a show and a few months later got an offer for three nights plus $750 free play.

    I wouldn't call that "tough."

I shouldn't even reply to a person like you, so consider this your one time...

First off you sound like a scorned ex girlfriend jealous of what I can get
Second the host I'm working with has worked for Caesars in the past. So he knows how I play. If you would just stop trying to assume everyone in here is like you that means lies constantly..
I showed people my offers, seven stars card dated photos of jackpots with out one person asking for it..You know why because I'm for REAL.
    I play 40 weekends a year, play 10 hours a day

As I've stated this is my only time replying to your stupid ass....

You don't know how much they really played. Comps have gotten much more difficult over the years and esp. at Wynn/Encore. I've taken a lot of people in there for the first time to train and saw their play level mostly on 25c thru $2. They kept in touch and told me their offers. They'd average the three free nights--sometimes in a suite--plus maybe $300 in free play. And that was after at least $4000 put thru the machines. If they're giving away $750 these days for far less play then there's something wrong, because they still don't comp drinks to $10 players at their bars.

I'm not familiar with comp ratios to lines of credit. But I do know comp policies at that place pretty well. I know a huge amount of machine play there will get you multiple offers for a few nights plus some food, shows and a lot of free play. Opening a line of credit is a casino tool and can bring more in comps--for the PLAYER(S). It doesn't open doors for groups of people like that, esp. when there's zero history on property. Even whales would have a hard time convincing a casino, let alone Wynn, to host a non-playing clan like that.

Like you said, casinos won't stay in business giving out more than they take in, and Wynn is super notorious for being the biggest tight-asses in the business when it comes to these freebies.

Remember when I played my $1 thru $25 strategy there and hit the big winner? Afterwards I received one crummy offer that I didn't use, and there was never anything else after it. I called to see what more I could get and was told they even wiped my points clean--probably because I won. Only casino I've ever seen do that.

The offer doesn't pass the smell test. Period.

Let's see....never been to the property before, under "no obligation" to play, now we find that this host is going by play he remembers from the past, you open a "good faith" line of credit, and somehow this host is able to invite an entire clan in led by a slot machine player.

You're right about one thing: if you play that much and that often, I'm sure they're looking forward to your continued losing.

I can somewhat corroborate LoneStar's story.

My father was a CET Las Vegas mid/high roller for a couple years and a Wynn host sent him an unsolicited letter offering RFB even though my dad never previously set foot in the place. When you received four-figure freeplay postcard offers from CET, they were given in small stacks of $500 coupons at the promotions desk playable at any Vegas CET property (this was several years ago).

I appreciate your comments, you are correct with all these casinos opening in just about every State there are many Caesars hosts that "accidentally" take a high roller client list. They call you out of the blue and offer you the world just so you'll come in the front door
Rob is just an empty barrel who makes a lot of noise because he wants to have what others have

$4000 coin in on VP at a CET property is only 400 tier.. that won't even get you a buffet.. no way you are getting suite or $300 in free play from that amount of play from any property in Vegas.. its peanuts

How many times a year to you go to Vegas? I go 8-10 times a year, minimum... I also go to Biloxi,New Orleans,Atlantic City,St Louis,Council Bluffs,Cincinnati,Cleveland,Southern Indiana,Ak Chin,Rincon... When you have a "track record" at other places you'd be shocked at what someone will give you...

I wasn't questioning your offers... I was questioning Robs claim that $4000 coin in was significant..
I hit Vegas 1-2 times a year lately.. went more in the past.. but I was in AC & Philly quite a bit last year.. since thats local to me

Yeah, I was going to say what Just just did. I don't play much, but putting 4K through is no big deal. Putting 4K through in a day will get you room and food at most downtown casinos, with the probable exception of the Golden Nugget. Putting 4K through on the strip isn't going to get much -- maybe a meal.

Let me help Rob out here once again -- maybe he meant 40K and forgot to type the extra zero.

Rob I know the player who played $200 at Wynn and got the offer and you know him too. Jason.

    Hi LoneStarHorse:

I am looking forward to your trip report. I have never been in Vegas during a Superbowl weekend. I always thought it would be too crowded and also there were less promotions (eg Freeplay). So I am curious to follow why you enjoy them so much.

A few minutes ago, I took a photo from my office window of the Marriott, San Jose where the Carolina Panthers are staying. As you can see, a Super Bowl 50 banner is hanging on its side.
