I've said this before, but I agree with Alan on the last post. Rob's Martingale schtick wasn't going to do anyone any good in and of itself, but the minute percentages he lost with his "special plays" versus optimal play were probably compensated for by increased comps due to the impulsive, erratic profile that his style of play would generate. His style of play may also have reduced seat time, which on negative games would be a positive. His rants about "doing the opposite of what the casino wants" were spot on, I thought. Plus he had the guts to call people out on tipping hand pays and other assorted nonsense.

Unfortunately, he wrapped these basic points with his flag of "I have a unique and special system," which was a tough sell to anyone who knew anything about video poker.

I'm not so sure about that redietz.

Ask any Casino Host the following:

"Hey, I'm an admitted VP gambling addict and was for years. I'm all better now though. Listen, I'd like to bring $50,000+ in cash to your casino. I'm willing to lose it all to try and win $2500. I don't care what comps you have to offer me. I'll be playing your -EV VP machines. I mostly play conventional strategy, but occasionally I'll make some -EV plays to try and get lucky. If I happen to start losing, I'll keep moving up in denomination to try and chase that money back and hit my $2500 win goal. When I do, I'll stop for the day, NOT tip on any hand-pays and then come back next week."

Do you think any of those hosts would say, "No thanks, your kind isn't wanted here."?

Almost every gambling guru will tell you a sufficient bankroll is necessary. Essentially, that is telling a person they have to be disciplined with their money. Singer is not the first or the only person to recommend discipline. The fact he repeats what others have been saying for years is not worth the rest of the BS he brings to the table.

Let's take this one step further, anyone who gambles at casinos, horse tracks, etc MUST be disciplined....

Can we go 24 hours without mentioning "little man" in this forum...

Only good thing about Little Man is once the guys he owes money to catch him he won't be around here... But he's got to show up at Hard Rock and the odds of that happening are 3,575,000/1

I want to thank the people that have PMd me the documents about Robert Harry Argentino aka Rob Singer...

Certified Court records are quite compelling to say the least, amazing what people can find out with public information....
He truly is a sociopath to say the least

Any approximate dates on those? Perhaps all this occurred before he turned it all around...You know... BEFORE he gave up being a gambling addict AP, developed his SPS, SRTT (or was on SSRIs), became a professional instead, won $1 million (or $750,000, or $900,000) bought a luxury RV and a second "winter beater" RV, had his new home built and bought this new HellCat?

Yes, his issues started in the 90's and continued into last year....

When I was in college I had my car repo'd. It's a funny story: it was my LAST payment that was overdue. Never in a million years did I think that they would repo my car with the last payment of $111.76 overdue -- but they did.

I was a sophomore in college, home for the weekend, when I got a call from a girl who said her name was Linda. Linda says "I met you at a party and I'm home. Let's meet for drinks at the Hearth (local bar/grill). I have blonde hair and I'm wearing a red sweater. Meet you at the bar at 6."

Well, shortly before 6 I show up and sit at the bar. A few minutes later I see a blonde with a red sweater walking out of the other side of the restaurant -- with a guy. I said to myself "was this a set up?" I decide to go home, but when I walk outside my car is gone.

I promptly reported my car as STOLEN, but the police had already been notified that the car was repo'd.

I got the car back the next day: paid the $111.76 plus a $35 towing fee, plus a $25 late fee.

Remember: it was the last payment due on the car.

    Now the worst part:

When I got back to college I was on a double date and told the story while the four of us were at the IHOP after a movie. My girl (who I had been dating at Syracuse) looks at me and said: "you cheater. Serves you right."

    Double whammy.

I'm beginning to think Frank Kneeland's assessment was, unfortunately, correct regarding Rob. I figured Fuhrman would not have offered incorrect information.

    What's a hellcat?
Take off that stupid mask you big baby.

I think we know now why Rob will never show his tax returns under any circumstances.

How about breaking down the problems by date?

Alan: Morally and instinctually you may be right that the last payment would be treated leniently. From an accounting perspective, however, that is the BEST time to repo someone's car for maximum profit. All of the previous years' payments are retained AND the car is seized. The last payment in arrears would represent the profitable apex for the repo'ing party with the reverse being true for the car owner (as you discovered).
