Thread: What's going on at Caesars?

  1. #1
I am confused. I was at Caesars briefly for 2 nights expecting the worst.

    1. I had been at another casino and then went to Caesars at 9:00 A.M. on Sunday morning. No way they would let me check in that early. I go to the Diamond/7 Star check in expecting the worst and she says your room is ready and hands me the keys. No waiting--no checking luggage.

    2. I tell the lady that I have a late flight out--could I have a late check out of about 1:30. She says no problem--I'll put you in for 2:30.

    3. Got to my room and it was an upgraded room with a decent view of the strip (why anyone cares about the view I'll never know as I looked out the window just that one time).

    4. When I had checked in she told me to go to the cage as she backed in some free play and entries for a drawing. What???
Apparently, there was a free play offer if I stayed 2 days in January or february. I was 1 day in each month so she gave me the free play although I hadn't booked that offer. Also, there was a series of drawings at various Caesars properties. Two had already taken place but she put me in for the remaining ones (which I of course lost).

    5. I charged all of my meals etc. to my room. On check-out, I went back to the Diamond check-in and asked her to use my points for all of the room charges. She said they have already been "comped" away--no need to redeem your points.

Shades of the 80's here when you actually got treated with respect at Caesars. But totally shocking to me.

Regarding #1: This is a slow time. Try this Super Bowl weekend and it won't happen. Try this at the end of February when several big conventions are in town and it won't happen. Right now I am trying to get my brother and three of his colleagues reservations for four rooms for Feb 28-29 and Caesars is sold out for at least one of those nights.

Regarding #5: Check your Total Rewards balance. I'm not saying this happened to you, but sometimes they will use your Reward Credits in advance of check-out to cover your charges. If you booked this thru a host and your play was "good" the host might have indeed comped you.

Also, the January-February Free Play offers I think also include an amount of folio credits.

For January and February they raised my free play offer from $250 to $400 but eliminated the folio credit.

It could also be that this gal has never worked for the DMV.

Exactly what I was going to say.

Very high chance that your balance being "taken care of" was simply an automatic application of RCs.

I actually hate this, because it enables the hotel to just grab your RCs -- sometimes for things you didn't want or authorize (such as bogus internet or minibar charges).

Shortly after I made Seven Stars, I was told the same thing during a stay at Caesars -- that my "host had taken care of" a $25 or so restaurant charge. I thought, "Wow, cool, he did that without me asking." Turned out it was just the system billing my RCs automatically.

I will double check my RC's. When I asked her to apply my RC's she did say the charges were "comped away" and that I didn't need to use my RC's. We shall see--it was over $400.

I didn't use my host and played very little as it was just a 2 day break to "recover" after a horrible but still grueling 3 days at the NHC.

Just surprised that the little things like early check in and late check out, etc. went so smoothly. Also they gave me great seats for my 1 show per month as a diamond on very short notice. If you haven't seen million dollar quartet (has anyone besides me not seen it yet) I highly recommend it.

P.S. I am just catching up on e-mails and see that they have decided to let Diamond and 7* have those options available starting Feb. 1.

If you didn't use a host, how do you think your charges were comped? Better check your Reward Credits. Did you have a previous balance that was still valid (they expire after six months of non-play)?

If you were comped, was the gal at the Diamond Check-In staring continuously at the bulge in your pants?

Maybe I could have given her some free play!!!

Checked on-line. Rewards are intact. Would the balance have gone down yet if they stole my RC's??

Also noticed that here in Chicago, I can play VP for 3 or 4 hours and maybe get 1000 tier credits. In Vegas, I got 11,000 in slightly more time. I don't know the formula used here in Chicago but I always believed they were cheating us here.

Your online balance would immediately show the deductions. Don't complain. And wear the same pair of pants next time.
