Thread: Biggest Loser Contest

  1. #1
    And I'm not talking weight.

Penn and Teller have a line in their show where they joke about people bragging about being "whales," and then they say something like, and I'm paraphrasing, "And there's another name for whales -- it's called 'Losers.'"

CET is not known as the bastion of good odds for gaming, but it seems to be a popular casino of choice on this forum.

So, in light of LoneStar vs. Coach Belly on another thread, may I present another name for a "Whales" contest -- "The Biggest Loser."

Let's have some folks step out and announce how much they've lost in 2015. Tax returns are useful, if you are a professional (like Rob), but we'll actually take your word for it until we get to the final. Then a polygraph test will be used to determine if you are being truthful about how much you lost. We'll consider all kinds of evidence. Bankruptcies are helpful. If you've had to recently sell an RV at a horrible loss, that will count, too.

Because, let's face it, proving you gambled a lot at CET is almost (but not quite) evidence you lost.

Anyone willing to go first? Unfortunately, I don't qualify, but I would if we counted just video poker, so maybe next year for me.

    Let's go. Don't be shy.

Biggest Loser gets a very special trophy, plus a bottle of Johnny Walker. I'm from Tennessee, so I appreciate the stuff.

Ridiculous. I've already posted that the Augustus Tower at Caesars Palace was named after me. I paid for it. Dan should thank me for his fountain views.

    Hard to argue with that.

Longevity does count, and when Knievel jumped the Caesars' fountain, Alan had already paid for the sequins on his outfit.

I had not yet been at Caesars when Knievel jumped, but I had already wired in my pledge.

By the way... any of you Seven Stars remember when the Rio would name a suite after you? There are still suites at Rio with placques naming the suite after Seven Stars players. When I made Seven Stars I asked for an entire tower.

I stayed at Rio during its soft opening when half the place wasn't really finished -- only way it was affordable and I wanted to see it.

You know, they should have an option for guys looking to impress chicks (without lugging 57K around for video poker). For an extra $50, they could whip up a placque with your name on it and put it on the suite door, to be taken down after your departure.

Excellent job. I have a friend who plays craps who aspires to these kinds of numbers. His home base is Paris, in fact.

FUCK Paris I lost just over $20K there
I didn't want to brag on my W2G's last year, but as I stated got nothing to hide

Yes, my craps playing friend plays in marathon sessions to control the daily perception. He's Diamond -- says there is no way he could do better playing table games at CET.

To set the record straight I do have win/loss statements from Penn Gaming & Pinnacle as well both show winning for the year

Out of curiosity, LoneStar, does CET include sports bets in the won/loss statement. Other Las Vegas sports books keep their action under separate accounts (such as WestGate or Boyd), so you'd have to request separate paperwork, but CET is organized differently in that your TR card may lump everything together.

When I surveyed sports books in Las Vegas about eight/nine years ago, CET allowed their bigger TR players higher limits on sports bets than smaller players. Being upfront about that kind of bias is unusual, so I was wondering if you've ever run into that kind of thing where you could get more down on a game at CET than a friend who wanted the same bet.

CET does not put your sports bets in this year end statement
