Thread: Morongo February 29 Leap Year Promotion

  1. #1
Received an email announcing a promotion for Leap Year Day February 29th. Not only do you first have to win their hourly drawings (amount of play determines number of entries) but then you have to spin a prize wheel. Even if you get lucky and you are called, you have to get lucky a second time to win anything substantial. I will rate this one a pass.

    Details from their email:

Every 30 minutes from 9:00AM - 11:00PM, two (2) Morongo Rewards members will be randomly selected to receive one (1) spin on the Party Wheel for a chance at $29 - $290 CASH! If a winner lands on the ‘LEAP’ space, they will leap into the inner circle and have a chance to win up to $2,900!

Winning Titanium Card members receive TWO spins on the Prize Wheel! They keep the highest amount!

Winning Black Card members receive THREE spins on the Prize Wheel! They keep the highest amount!

I would say the promotion is decent for an one day event that is not regarded as a national holiday, Vegas local casinos will have point multipliers and Pechanga will have $100 hotseats every 5 minutes.

It will be the most beneficial to those that are staying at the Morongo resort for multiple days to parlay the promotions.

Sunday 28 - Luxury Vehicle Drawing - the turning point for Morongo overcoming the recession

    Monday 29 - This promotion

Tuesday March 1 - Free play period starts at midnight and is an extra free play day so it is worth staying at night of leap year.

It would be an endless debate as some people prefer big prize amounts awarded to a single winner or small prize amounts awarded to a handful of people.

Thanks for posting this, I've been noticing messages from Morongo has been going into my Spam folder due to so many Google phishing reports with their telemarketing company. I was able to put them on the safe senders list.

What does this mean? "Turning point for... overcoming the recession"?

Long story short, Morongo was struggling during 2008-2010. The place was nearly empty during the weekdays and half full at best during the weekends. They've offered so many different benefits for players to come and play to no avail.

The idea of giving away a luxury car each week was what turned things around. It made ordinary people believe they can win, and they will tell their friends and family to play. After a few months after the first vehicle giveaway, the offers that were available disappeared and Morongo started to thrive.
