And that statement is a direct, and completely documented, lie.
Everything is available at Yahoo. If anyone doesn't have an account there, get one. It's easy, free and only takes a few minutes, (which helps to show that Rob's claim he "borrowed" the alias of someone else because his account stopped working is ludicrous).
This is long, (mostly consisting of Rob's posts), but since there is no way of knowing how long Yahoo will stay alive I thought it might be appropriate to post the history here. It's also great to have a single URL that anyone can point to in the future that shows it; just hover over the post number on the top right and bookmark it. And if anyone decides to read the original's over at Yahoo you might want to post a confirmation here of the accuracy.
This shows the entire posting history of "Aces_Hii":

Scroll down to the bottom for the first post.
The following is the entire sequence leading up to where Rob announced he was "borrowing" the Aces_Hii account, 13 posts starting with his first one. There are scores more after that; 104 in total.
My comments and/or emphasis interspersed as necessary.

(Part "C" is in response to Dick's statement "Finally, just how are you and RS related? If you can't answer this qustion honestly then don't bother replying at all." The same, or similar response can be found in virtually every forum where Rob was accused of using an alias.)

(Besides the Bellyesque comments sprinkled throughout this diatribe, this dialog has that oh-so-commonly used phrase "
Peeling down the onion". Who uses that? Rob seems to like it, using it
here, and
here, and
here.)

This was the last post until he replied to what appears to be a post by Elliot Shapiro on September 9th, 2005:
This is reminiscent of the infamous Jatki "I met him once"/"I never met him" posts, but in this case he stated "I met him in New Orleans and he showed me a few things. Now when I play vp, I rarely go home without more than I started with" but 6 months later writes "I tried and also couldn't at low level machines, so I contacted him and he met up with me in Laughlin. When I was made aware of all the non-expert plays his strategies require, I just didn't have the time to follow through on it and I gave up."
On September 12, 2005 Aces_Hii seems to sound a lot more like Rob:
Later that same day, Rob seems to have completely forgotten he's using that alias, (although the vitriol seems consistent with earlier posts), and writes this:
The time stamps which formerly showed the exact time of day the post was made now only show the date, but when I looked at it long ago in the old format it showed the following post came in about 10-15 minutes after the last one:
What Rob doesn't mention here is that Yahoo is not a "message board" or "forum"; it's a list serve. When you post the message it
does post to a board, but it also is emailed to everyone who subscribes to it as well. And that means once you post, you can't edit it because everyone has already seen the original. I suspect Rob got the email copy and realized his mistake and then scrambled to cover his fanny.
That "return" of the account never happened. A total of 104 posts were made by Aces_Hii, ending in October of 2005.
The post prior to Rob's "announcement" contained comments about his column, solidifying the fact that it was indeed Rob. That post also stated:
should go down in the annals of internet posting as one of the most hilarious posts ever made for using an alias to rebut someone claiming you use an alias.
So Rob's claim that "
I've never posted anything anywhere under any other alias unless I first clearly identified it as me." is demonstrably false. Of course everyone is free to make their own decision as to if his claim of "borrowing" an account is true and if this was a lone incident, but that doesn't alter the fact that in this case he did indeed make posts under an alias he did not announce ahead of time. The fact that his "disclosure" was likely made only because there was no way to edit his earlier posts that were sent via email, as well as the fact that making a new account at Yahoo if his other one had been removed is a simple proposition, makes his version of the events rather dubious.
So now we can look forward to Rob telling me how "deep he is in my head", (Yuck. I try to think as little as possible about him but DO always enjoy being able to present to others information that they may not be aware of that show his true colors). How he didn't read it because I wasn't concise, (It's 95% your posts Rob, I wrote very little and the main purpose was to make sure it was posted in a 2nd location so it would stay around in perpetuity where more and more people could relish in your antics). And how I had to spend hours and hours making the post, (cut and past Rob. Learn to use it. The entire thing took very little time).
Or maybe he'll come up with some new insults, but history suggests his book of tricks is pretty thin.
