Thread: Caught Up With Blacklist, Supergirl, Gotham

I was laid up with my first go round with sciatica, and managed to catch up with one show I once watched religiously (Blacklist), one I occasionally watched (Gotham), and one that's new (Supergirl).

Well, Supergirl is entirely too juvenile and chipper for me, and the people are too pretty. It's trying to give off a Buffy feminist vibe with a bigger budget, but it's just too sweet for me.

If James Spader wasn't on Blacklist, I wouldn't watch a minute, but he captivates me.

Gotham is much rougher in terms of violence and emotion than I would have anticipated, but it works. I'll have to keep up a bit better. I'm a comic book guy, and I have no issues with the reworked origins of Penguin or Catwoman or Riddler. I buy the TV show characters becoming the iconic characters in the comics.

The production values of all three shows are impressive.

On the other hand, you found "Blacklist" captivating, primarily due to James Spader's performance. Actors can have a significant impact on our enjoyment of a show, and it's great that his portrayal keeps you engaged.

As a comic book fan, you appreciate "Gotham" and its reworked origins of characters like Penguin, Catwoman, and Riddler. It's interesting to see how TV show interpretations can influence and add depth to iconic comic book characters.

Lastly, you mentioned being impressed with the production values of all three shows. High production values can enhance the overall viewing experience and contribute to the immersion in the fictional worlds they depict.

What are you trying to do to yourself?
I watched one episode of the Blacklist because the Golden Nugget paid me 20 dollars to do so.
An overweight, balding James Spader can't even save that show or get me to watch it.
And the other two choices aren't even comprehendible.
    Come on Man.
    You're better than this!

    ChatGPT or another LLM ?
I don't understand or get why it's so popular?
I haven't tried them, nor would I even attempt to try them.
Writing is pretty sacred in my opinion.
I just got too old, I guess.
I can't wrap my head around using AI, ChatGPT or Siri.
And I have no clue what LLM is... I am old, lol.

I don't know why they are popular. I have no interest in it. LLM stands for Large Language Model. I brought it up because I developed a paranoia that Edward was generating his responses using ChatGPT or another LLM application - something struck me as odd about cadence of the last post. I apologize to Edward if this came from his own brain.
