Thread: South Point - Everyone's a Winner

  1. #1
South Point is running the same contest they've had in the past where even if you don't win the grand prize you still get a free Sunday-Thursday room. From what I've read these rooms are completely free; no resort fee. Seems like a good chance to check out the place if you've never been there before.

    To enter go to:

How long are these good for? Can you play this and then redeem your room in the summer?

I believe so, but I didn't read through everything. I seem to recall it was good until mid or late summer. It should say somewhere in the fine print.

  4. #4
It's only one night and it's limited. The fine print really isn't very fine. This is right in the rules:

Contestants will only be permitted to redeem one free room night. This offer may not be used in conjunction with any other offer. The free room night will be valid Sunday through Thursday nights only, May 30, 2016–September 8, 2016, not valid on holidays, certain blackout dates may apply and are based on availability.

This is a way for them to collect email addresses.

Looks like spock couldn't alter or fabricate anything--and then call them facts on this one.....

  6. #6
This is where throw away e-mail addresses come in handy. Not that one free night there is worth much though.

  7. #7
Thanks, Spock. I'll certainly make use of this.

Rob's too highbrow to appreciate a room at South Point.

  8. #8
read the rules. there are too many ways for them to tell you "sorry, no room available."

I'll do this a bit later and report back. I actually do need a room during a summer weekday, so I will see if I can get it.

Not paying them a dime, though.

I've stayed at and/or checked in for at least 150 comped nights since they opened as South Coast. Their rooms are comfortably large with better than avg. bathrooms. I've also dined at Michael's a half dozen times. Their spa is first class, they have great vp up thru $25, their movie theater is rarely crowded for those who can pull themselves away from the action for a couple of hours, their sportsbook is a great place to relax and keep up w/o being crowded out by a bunch of degenerates, and they have the best oyster bar in the state.

Have you ever been there for real----or is it like everything else?

I attended a couple of conferences there and have only good things to report, other than that the buffet is average (as buffets tend to be). They endeared themselves to me when they put the life size Hulk statue near the front doors when The Avengers opened.

They were one of the few places to have a race book somewhat separate from the sports book, which is nice.

Wow. I don't think I've ever seen you this irritated Rob. Here it is weeks later and you are still trying to deny the undeniable truth. And you never learn: every time you do that is just another opportunity for me to post another link to the article so people who are scratching their head wondering what you are talking about can read it.

I'm well aware that your definition of "lie" is "true things that other people write about me that I don't like", but you only make yourself look like more of a buffoon when you deny the undeniable text. You say I "alter" or "fabricate"? PROVE it. Everything in that post was taken directly from Yahoo. Everything is both in that post and at Yahoo for anyone to read. Unlike you, I have nothing to hide. I won't hold my breath waiting for that "proof" but it's another wonderful opportunity for other readers to see that "truth" is just an abstract idea that doesn't apply to you. And you can't help but laugh at the irony of you lying about a post that shows you are lying.

BTW, you might want to take some tums. Maybe double up on your BP meds. If that last post drove you that crazy, the next one just might put you over the edge.

Just signed up. Here is the fine print:

Contestants who provide a valid and unique email address will receive one free room night from the South Point Hotel, Casino and Spa by email on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. If more than one person enters with the same email address, the first entry will be kept and they will receive the free room night. The other entries will be deleted. Contestants will only be permitted to redeem one free room night. This offer may not be used in conjunction with any other offer. The free room night will be valid Sunday through Thursday nights only, May 30, 2016–September 8, 2016, not valid on holidays, certain blackout dates may apply and are based on availability.

The offer must also be booked by June 1, 2016 and the email must be presented at check-in.

South Point is not responsible for e-mails that cannot be delivered.

Contestants must be 21 or older to enter South Point's Everyone's A Winner Contest.

Contestants irrevocably authorize South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa, their successors and/or their assigns to print, publish, televise, or otherwise to utilize their name, city and state, for promotional purposes.

Contestants agree to receive promotional emails from South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa and Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Should they change their mind at a later time, they may unsubscribe from the email group.

South Point employees are not eligible for the contest.

South Point Hotel Casino & Spa reserves the right to revise or cancel this promotion without notice and the right to disqualify a contestant for any reason it deems proper.

All prizes are subject to availability.

Resolution of any and all disputes will rest with the South Point Management and their decision shall be final.

False information provided to the Contest Management shall be grounds for immediate disqualification and may cause forfeiture of any prizes won in South Point's Everyone's A Winner Contest.

I have not yet received the e-mail.

However, I am concerned about the $14 resort fee. It is not clear from above whether I am expected to pay that or not.

If this is truly free, I might actually redeem this for my stay during WSOP.

If it involves any lame resort fees, I'm not gonna bother.

    Thanks for that offer, Rob.

    I'll send you the bill.

I'll be by myself for that stay, though.

If there are blackout days, having them during the WSOP would be some of them.

Just curious, what is the maximum Resort Fee of any casino/hotel in Vegas?

Probably the $32 Caesars is charging now (or will be charging very soon).

Anyway, I doubt the WSOP days will be blackout dates. Aside from the Colossus event and perhaps one or two others, the WSOP does not bring appreciable traffic into Vegas. That is, the Rio is much busier, but the rest of the city isn't affected too much.

During last year's Colossus event, though, prices shot up to $300/night even at the crap hotels.

    What is the Colossus event?

It's a huge poker tournament at the WSOP because it has a buy-in of less than $600 and attracts players who can't afford the other tournaments which can range from $1500 to $10,000 and up. It's also a multi-entry tournament. I know a player who entered it twice last year.
