Warning to Seven Stars: Check that your "free" internet/media is really free!

On my last trip to Caesars, from room service I ordered bacon as a topping for my cheeseburger. The basic burger was one price, cheese was extra and bacon was extra.

The burger arrived without the bacon. I was going to call to room service to ask for a credit but somehow I forgot to do it.

The bacon was $3. They add an automatic tip on top of that. They add an automatic delivery charge on top of that. The missing bacon probably cost me $4.

This wasn't comped, and because I don't earn that much in comps I had to pay that with my credit card.

Honestly, I shouldn't have let it slip but I did. And I am not ashamed to say I wanted a refund on my four bucks.

I deal with contracts, one error can lead to thousands of dollars of mistakes. I tend to read everything very carefully and correct errors when I find them. The amount doesn't matter, to me it's more a matter of attention to detail. Bills and restaurant checks are no more than short term contracts, they should be correct, but mistakes happen.

I don't blame you. I would've asked for a new one or to ship up this l the bacon.

This is one of the reasons I will not eat anywhere that automatically adds on an extra percentage for a tip. More reason for them to give poor service.

What's funny is that I am in the TV advertising business where we have very, very few WRITTEN contracts. Mostly everything is done verbally and it's amazing how FEW problems we have.

I book air time with the stations VERBALLY and book production deals with advertisers and air time purchase with advertisers VERBALLY and there aren't problems.

Maybe ONCE a year we run into a problem and it has nothing to do with the contract. I'll give you an example: I had an Infomercial running on one of the TV stations in LA and they cut away from the program for five minutes for a special report about the President. We made a phone call the next day and we got a "make good" on the half hour Infomercial without a problem -- and nothing in writing.

This is a big money business where everything is handled with a phone call.

The TV companies I book time with include CBS and Fox and ABC and deals are made in phone calls. Problems are handled with phone calls. I think it's just business and how business is done. When you ask about reputation a plumber or electrician comes to mind.
