Thread: Harrah's Laughlin Total Rewards getting away from reprinting offers

  1. #1
I made an unexpected stop at Harrah's Laughlin last night. I had offers for $65 freeplay (no hotel room required) and $30 food (again, no stay required) so I figured I'd stop in. Not worth making a trip there for that, but I was passing within 18 miles of the place, so I stopped by.

As per usual, I went to Total Rewards to get my offers "reprinted", as I didn't have my mailer with me.

There was an obnoxious sign in there stating that they will "no longer reprint offers", and to remember to bring your mailers. But then the sign also mentioned that for "a limited time, we will reprint it for you as a one-time courtesy".

    Huh?

This was in the Diamond/Seven Stars room of Total Rewards. I don't know if the sign existed in the Gold/Platinum area.

The lady who reprinted my vouchers was nice, and did not mention anything regarding the sign. I also doubt they were doing "one time courtesies", as it didn't seem she noted my account or anything that she used my "one time".

This is really lame, though. People come all the way out to Laughlin (which is close to NOTHING, unless you live in Bullhead City or Needles), forget their mailer, and they can't have their offers? That's some way to show customer loyalty.

Ran pretty well with my $65 freeplay at $1 7/5 Bonus, turning it into $90.

When I flew to Harrah's New Orleans two weeks ago on my Seven Stars Retreat benefit, I tried to also cash in $100 in a travel reimbursement voucher which I accessed on my smart phone by the Total Rewards app. I had misplaced the paper voucher mailed to me.

I was directed to the Host office and was told by the host on duty that I needed to print out an itinerary to prove I traveled from California and give it to him so he could prepare a voucher for the $100 travel reimbursment. When I forwarded the itinerary from my iphone, that host eventually said the associated airline code said "no monetary value" so I could not get a reimbursement for my travel. He said that "frequent flyer mileage travel was not entitled to any reimbursement." I did not try to clear up any confusion by explaining it was actually my Seven Stars travel. I figured, it was worth a try and had no hard feelings.

Later that day I was approached while playing at a blackjack table by the New Orleans host who was getting credit for my stay, and she said "I hear you had some complications in the host office." After some discussions, she offered a $100 food voucher which I used for a steakhouse dinner with the wife.

By contrast, last year I had a $300 travel voucher to go to Rincon. But I traveled on my Aspirations Level 2 flight and did not pay for that flight either. At that time I had the paper voucher for the reimbursement offer. I just went up to the cashier, got the voucher code scanned, and received the $300 in cash.

Moral of the story? Bring those mailers around with you and life may be a lot easier.

Another moral of the story is that every CET property looks at things differently. We have visited well over half of the CET properties and have yet to come across any two properties that have the same policies and procedures. And another moral of the story is that if you don't like the way a particular property is doing things now, talk to somebody different at the same property on the same or next visit and it is highly likely you will get totally different results.

Never been to Laughlin heard many good things about it.
