Thread: Contemplating Tahoe for 7* experience....any advice or experiences welcomed.

NEW to this site...( Thanks Jean Scott) Wish I had found it LOOOOng ago.

Attended the 7* experience in Vegas last year. Thinking about Tahoe this year. Never been there. I'd welcome any advice or input as to your experiences. Should I stay at Harvey's or Harrahs? Hubby will not go to Atlantic City or New Orleans.
    Thanks for your time.

I can't speak to Tahoe as I have never been.
Last year I was supposed to go to the one in Atlantic City. It was booked the first day reservations were open and I was booked for a very nice room. I forget the particulars but it was oceanview in the most highly recommended tower. Fast forward to a few weeks before the event, when something came up and I was forced to cancel the trip. My room reservation had been downgraded considerably. I am assuming because I had no history at the property. Had I been able to go I would have been disappointed when I got there.

    Hi Videos:

    Welcome to the Board.

Both Harvey's and Harrah's Lake Tahoe rooms are nice and the hotels are attached by an underground walkway under the road so they are essentially the same location. All Harrah's Lake Tahoe rooms have the unusual characteristic of having two full bathrooms. Harvey's is slightly closer to Lake Tahoe.

The Diamond Lounge in Harrah's Lake Tahoe is connected to the slot High Limit Room and you should have either the Diamond check-in desk or Total Rewards code your room key so you can have access but you will find no view (or windows there). By contrast, Harvey's Diamond Lounge has a beautiful view of the Lake, you just need to find the "gold door" elevator somewhat near the Harvey's Total Reward desk to get there. I would not miss it if I were you. You may need to pick up the phone to get the elevator operator to pick you up. Don't forget to tip her and laugh at her jokes.

If you can, try to get seats on the Harrah's yacht for a trip across Lake Tahoe to Emerald Bay. The bus will pick you up on the Harrah's parking lot. Book it early.

As a Seven Stars, you can also get a free gondola pass (up to four per year) at Heavenly ski resort which is just west of Harrah's casino and an easy walk. There is a great view and a 20-30 minute roundtrip gondola ride. You need to get the passes from Total Rewards and then the Harrah's concierge. You can also use those passes for lift tickets during the winter if you choose so don't get more tickets than you need at one time.

Don't miss the buffet at Harrah's -- it is a the best view of any buffet I have been to.

I don't know if you play video poker, but both Harrah's and Harvey's Lake Tahoe have the best CET video poker schedules in the West.

There are essentially three nice steakhouses, but my favorite is the Sage Room just off the Harvey's casino. I like the table side flambé desserts by tuxedoed waiters. It is really old school.

Seven Stars and one adult companion can use the Harvey's spa (locker, access to steam room, Jacuzzi) for free daily. The pool outside there opens to a Lake Tahoe view but can be crowded with kids.

    Fab,
Thank you so much ( your name is an excellent description of your advice.)

Your information is very valuable, and we will definitely use it. Sounds like lots to do. We are video poker players and look forward to better pay scales. In Vegas last week for five days and got killed!!!! It's called gambling.
    Thanks again.

    Hi Videos:

What part of the country do you live at? Where did you play to get to Seven Stars? I focus on Nevada and California but am curious about other locations.
