A fire happened at Caesars Palace at 3:30AM on a escalator. 140 rooms were evacuated from the Palace Tower for about two hours. Three employees were treated and released from the hospital. No casino patrons or hotel guests were injured.

I was there. Playing in the Palace Casino. What bothered me was that when the alarm sounded the cash boxes were being changed from the slot machines and there were security guards with the "count room guys." While they were asking players to move back from the machines so that the cash boxes could be changed the security guards also said "its just a test."
Also the alarm had a loud pre-recorded announcement that said something like we are trying to determine the cause of the alarm. NEVER was there an announcement over the PA system to evacuate. We got the word from casino employees about twenty minutes AFTER the alarm sounded.
What was interesting was that I went to the cage to cash out my chips after our craps table was closed. And the cashiers were telling the security people that they were not allowed to leave the cash in the drawers and had to take it back to a more secure area. I wanted to hear the rest but firemen were coming in.
